Microsoft is keeping Windows 10 alive, but why?

Microsoft has quietly "announced" they will be supported Windows 10 for consumers for at least an additional year through so-called "Extended Security Updates" (ESU). They first announced this last year when Windows 10 ended support, and at the time only mentioned 1 year of support. I suspected they'd extend it, and now they have. They updated the ESU page that support will last through September 2027.

In this video I explain why they did this, and why I think they'll likely extend it again until 2028, but no longer than that.
