The event is 1 hour long, in three sections. The documentary screening, storytelling by the Seals themselves, then a Marine Biology presentation followed by a brief Q&A session.
A group of folks living on a small island whose love of the cold ocean water swimming has created a deep and connected bond.
Filmed over a year from World Ocean 2021 to 2022, through the ecological effects of climate change, we follow the story of the Seals and their special relationships, past, present and future, with the ocean on their 20th anniversary of ocean swimming.
Director Biography - Flossy Roxx
Flossy Roxx is a freediver, photographer and adventure film maker. Fellowship of the Sea is their film making debut, in addition to their extensive photography portfolio. Flossy has built an audience on YouTube combining a love of the outdoors and conservation and awareness of the ocean and all its life forms.
Director Statement
I'm very excited to present my first Documentary Short Film featuring a group of "Seals" - older folks who swim in the Salish Sea / Pacific Ocean all year round. I believe we have a duty and responsibility to preserve and protect our oceans. First we must build relationships with its seasons and the marvellous creatures that inhabit its waters.The ticket are in three tiers to pay what works for you. Pay it forward, the regular price and and accessible price.
The event will be on zoom, and runs for one hour. The first part is the documentary screening, the second and more personal storytelling piece from the seals themselves, followed by a Salish Sea marine biology presentation. I'm very excited to share this with you all FINALLY!!
The documentary was screened at the Whale Museum in Iceland for their Ocean Film Festival and is a quarter finalist in the Neum Underwater Film Festival.
I'm very proud of it and am excited to share the fruits of a year long labour of love with you all!
