You’re already AI. At least, that’s my view. Long before ChatGPT, we were outsourcing our survival, memory, and knowledge to tools, farming, books, machines, and screens. How much of who we are already depends on things outside our bodies?
This is also my story: a lonely Midwestern boy building model airplanes, discovering other worlds through encyclopedias, and eventually becoming an online teacher who thinks and creates alongside AI.
From cooking over a fire to pressing “start” on a microwave, from learning plants to learning prompts—what have we gained, and what might we be losing?
Join me for a personal, philosophical exploration of technology, human dependence, and possible AI futures. “Already AI” is a metaphor to explore, not a claim that humans are literally computer programs.
