"靴の花火" ("Kutsu no Hanabi" / "Fireworks Beneath My Shoes")
Here's something for new you today! (Headphones highly recommended)
If you don't already know, I'm a huge Yorushika (ヨルシカ) fan. I could go into a lot of detail why, but I'll save that for another day! I had the great fortune of seeing them live recently and felt motivated to keep playing their music on piano. I've been playing their songs a lot, but haven't tried recording them much since polishing them up to performance quality tends to be rather difficult. However, if I shorten the form a little bit (sorry, guitar solo!) especially for the slower songs it becomes more manageable!
Anyway, about this piece - what better place to start than Yorushika's first music video? Reducing the tempo a bit made it feel more natural as a piano ballad to me, so that's what I ended up doing. With my new keyboard, I can get a lot more expressivity across too - I tried varying up the dynamics between sections and bringing out the melody more.
I started this channel as a showcase for video game music on piano, but on occasion I may venture outwards a little bit into other musical interests. Don't worry, the video game stuff isn't doing anywhere :) As always, I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you want to see more of this!
The arrangement I'm playing off of is from an official sheet music book, so I unfortunately can't share the sheet music here. You can find that book here: cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEODAI-98056
