Yobe State has launched its 2026 statewide tree-planting campaign, targeting the planting of three million indigenous seedlings across the state. Governor Mai Mala Buni officially flagged off the campaign with the symbolic planting of a tree, as the state steps up efforts to combat desertification, restore degraded land and strengthen environmental resilience. The initiative also promotes community participation in protecting Yobe’s environment and expanding green cover.
