Alex had the idea for an extreme test of the EcoFlow battery bank he had been sent to review and Rob was going to capture the whole palava on his drone. 150: Diesel Heater Under Drivers Seat Mevi 2021-12-10 | I’m still learning to use this new camera and super-duper lens. That lens is amazing in low light and turns night to day, but a downside is that the very large lens aperture means that there’s LOTS of background blur….. and when it focuses on my shoulder, for instance, what you *want* to look at is lost in the soft, creamy bokeh.I reckon I’ll have to pick up a general purpose lens at some point.At the time of writing the heater still isn’t connected to the fuel. To get the sender unit out, the bench seat and my leisure batteries and bulkhead have to come out. Basically, screw that. I’m putting the included fuel can behind the seat. It’s cold. I can’t wait.The bodge job silicon draught excluder seal is not staying on. Don’t panic. I’ll get some high temperature mastic stuff.Please learn from my fails. This is not a how-to video. 149: I Can Laugh About It Now Mevi 2021-12-04 | In this video I talk about the time when the petrol station washing machine stole my clothes, the time I nearly had carbon monoxide poisoning from tea light candles AND how to safely drink a mug of hot coffee when driving.I've got a new camera and one of those lenses that makes basically everything out of focus except for me. Well it doesn't HAVE to, but this is the very first time using it, so yeah. Blurry backgrounds.Gadget John said he expects nothing less than 110% blurry backgrounds. I delivered. Even my shoulder is in soft focus. Face detect autofocus couldn't detect my face in this video as I ended up mounting the camera upside down, hanging off the windscreen. That'll be fixed next time.

147: Another Vanlife Winter - Electrics & Heating Mevi 2021-11-19 | EDIT: DIESEL HEATER IS SOLD..For transparency, Bluetti sent me the AC50S for free. I explained that I won't do a 'review', but talk about my experiences after a period of time with the product. I was quite upfront with them that I'm not the right person for reviews. I received it back at the beginning of August so it's had a pretty thorough trial.There is no give away or discount code or links here. Please do your own research and see if this product will work for you. You will be able to find lots of customer reviews on your favourite online shopping sites easily.Search for AC50S (not the older AC50) - expect to pay around £450. I paid much, MUCH more than that for my big heavy DIY setup of leisure batteries, MPPT, etc which has a similar useable Ah capacity and doesn't even have an inverter.For me, it's been brilliant and as the days get shorter, having a portable power bank that I can charge away from the van gives me a lot of peace of mind. It takes about 4-5 hours to fully charge with its 85 watt mains charger. From my van, it draws 115watts so that's quicker. It should charge from a 120watt solar panel too which I haven't tested yet. I didn't have any luck charging it direct from my leisure batteries or via my Epever MPPT. If you're a weekend warrior or have several different vehicles, you might be able to skip installing a dedicated power system all together.

Over an hour of me figuring out how to disassemble the door, applying the Silent Coat and putting it all back together. I thought about making a musical montage or edit the hell out of it to keep the runtime short, but I thought that it would be nice for us to hang out as I do the work on the van in real-time. There's a lovely background ambiance of my YouTube friends laughing in the background. You'll get a feel for the great times we have together.This video was recorded while I was getting the same old insults and threats for posting videos supporting Black Lives Matter. I've set a provisional date of Friday 5th June for the start of the challenge. It's better to have a concrete date to aim for than leave it all very woolly.I was inspired by all of those who completed it last year, especially Caz White and Greg Virgoe. I saw two people who seemed otherwise "normal" turn into superheroes and power through 215+ miles over 3 days.I chatted with Greg on his return and asked him straight "could I do this?". He said yes, but I would have to train.... Oh dear.With the new year, I've made a personal pledge to calm myself down. I am a coiled spring half the time. I chew my lips. I pace. Working at CatZero gives me an outlet for this energy, but I sometimes truggle to just sit quietly.This is where the cycling comes in. So far IT DOESN'T quieten my mind or give me focus. I find myself thrashing through ideas in my mind. How I mount the cameras, editing in hotel rooms, live streams, blah, blah, blah. My ass hurts, my legs hurt, I'm out of breath, my heart is beating out of my chest!
