I'm Yiğitcan, also known as Pufido. I'm a Turkish knitwear designer based in Istanbul. I learned knitting when I was a child from my mom and aunt. Then, in highschool I started to create my own garments, but at that time I didn't know that knitting patterns existed, so I was basically designing but not writing patterns.
I studied textile design and also did double-major in product design. I was doing my postgraduate degree in textile design but I didn't finish with my studies. I love to play with colors in my designs using several techniques; such as brioche, stranded colorwork, intarsia and slip stitches. I also love to use traditional Turkish elements in my designs. And usually try to use Turkish names for my designs.
I'd say I started "professionally" designing knitwear and writing patterns for my designs in summer of 2020, when we're all in lockdown.
My works have been published in several knitting magazines. I've done collaborations with yarn companies and indie dyers, and I'm still collaborating. Currently I'm working on my independent designs and also I'm designing for Urth Yarns.
