Here are my *pimple popping* rules:
1️⃣ **You get ONE chance only!** Reserve pimple popping for very superficial pimples that can be expressed with ONE gentle push. If it doesn’t come out easily, STOP. Beyond that, you risk more inflammation, discoloration and scarring.
2️⃣ **Avoid popping pimples in the “triangle of danger.” ⚠️** Not to be dramatic but…infections in this area can VERY rarely spread through veins that communicate with veins deeper in the skull.😱 Leave these alone!!!!
3️⃣ **Try a pimple patch or spot treatment first!** These can help treat the pimple without the trauma from squeezing and decrease your risk of discoloration and scarring from picking.
So yes, I’m a Derm giving you permission to pop SOME pimples…just follow my rules 💁🏼♀️
