This species of yellow jacket is Vespula maculifrons, aka "Eastern Yellow Jacket". This is typically a ground species, and today, I had to dig them up and remove them from a client's front yard. This was a fairly smooth removal, despite being stung on my shin! You get to see my plunder of the day where I process all the nests I removed at the end of this long day of Wasp Nest Removals! And of course, feeding the larvae to my Emus, Rhea, and Chickens!

Emus: Sweetie, Baby, and Doris
Squirrel: Lady
Chickens: Henny, Little Red Birdies (4 young red pullets), The Ronettes (3 black hens), Blondie (Yellow Hen) and Lucy (Orange Hen)
