From mid-September 2017 until the end of June 2018, I completed a year abroad working as a British Council English Language Assistant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which is one of the Canary Islands (Spain). It was an amazing experience overall and it gave me a lot of confidence... but initially the legal and administrative stuff was a bit of a nightmare!
During the next academic year, I’m going to be working as an ambassador for the Language Assistants programme that is open to current university students and graduates. If you’re interested in living and working abroad, the British Council’s programme is the perfect opportunity to do just that. There’s a lot of support available and the programme helps you develop a wide range of transferable skills that are relevant to any career path.
