If you don’t already know, this tiny change makes a HUGE difference, especially when working with single crochet stitches in the round. Instead of yarning over, yarn under for the first pull through. This technique is often used when making amigurumi to create a tighter fabric that resembles little Xs - sometimes also referred to as cross-stitch single crochet

P.S. you can choose to yarn over or under for the second pull through, although this part won’t really affect the look of the stitch.
