naztazia | Yarn Storage Ideas for Crochet and Knitting DIY Tutorial @naztazia | Uploaded 9 months ago | Updated December 14 2023
In this tutorial video I'll show you some ideas for storing your yarn to keep it safe from dust, debris, pet hair, water, and scents.
Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. Storing yarn is an important topic for those of us who knit and crochet. You want to have access to your yarn, and at the same time you want to keep it safe and protected. In this video I'll show you several ways of storing your yarn to maximize space and minimize any issues with it.
Some of the tools and techniques used include using clear plastic bins as well as soft clear totes with handles and a zipper. You can use poly bags, which are used in the food and clothing industry.
And you can use vacuum bags. With the vacuum bags, you can just put the yarn in them and seal them tightly. You can also remove the air in the bags to create even more space on your shelves for even more yarn. While I generally wouldn't vacuum seal a thick chenille yarn, I do find everyday type of regular yarn works great sealed like this. When the yarn skein comes out of the bag, surprisingly it returns to its normal shape and loft!
