Hey everyone! I know many of us are ear deep in the cold right no but some are in warmer weather or always have warmer weather. To a knitter you wonder "how in the world will I ever be able to wear my knitted project in heat like this?"
In this video I explain a little on what type of yarns are good for different kinds of weather. I haven't done much testing on different yarns, but generally this is a good tip to knit by. Hope this is helpful and please feel free to leave any tips you know down below for us all to enjoy and learn from.

Heres a cool stitch for you guys. Its a different take on the regular 1x1 rib. This looks and acts like a rib but it has cool openings that a normal rib doesnt have. Hope you guys like this one. This video is an idea Ive been thinking about for awhile. I was trying to make it easy for everyones skill level and I found it. All you need is a handkerchief, hem tape and an iron. Its easy no sew and its perfect for storing your needles. I hope you guys try this out and enjoy it as much as I am. Thanks for coming back and watching. Items: Handkerchief or 21 1/2 x 21 1/2 piece of fabric Hem Tape (3/8 iron on adhesive) Iron or sewing machine if you prefer Measure Tape Scissors All your double pointed needles Instructions: Turn on your iron according to hem tape instructions. If youre using a piece of fabric go ahead and hem all sides of your square. NOTE: If you are not using the no sew method, just sew all the places we put the tape. Lay out your handkerchief and iron out any folds and creases. Fold over about 4 from top and bottom. Place tape and iron. Lay your needles and fold up the bottom to form your pocket, about 4 1/2. Lay tape between your needles creating your pockets. About 1 per set of 5 needles after size 3 and 2 or more for needles size 9 and bigger. Needles under size 3 you can customize the size for those. Carefully fold your fabric up and iron to create your pockets. You can place your needles to check size of top fold. Fold top of fabric down, about 1 1/2. Cut two pieces of tape and place them on either side of this fold. Iron. On the far side of the right side of your case, tack a ribbon or any closer you want for your case. Use the tape to attach your ribbon, about 16. Insert your needles, roll up your case and tie closed. Provisional cast on is great with you want to either graft your finish project together, work in the other direction or add a decorative border later. This tutorial is showing the crochet zipper cast on. It allows you to unzip your provisional cast on later, much easier then my other video. Hope this helps you out. Items Mentioned: Clover Bamboo Double Pointed Needles size 8 (5mm) Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook Size H (5mm) Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Grape and Light Pink Crochet Provisional Cast On Instructions: Make a slip knot on crochet hook. Hold yarn and knitting needle in left hand and crochet hook in right hand. With yarn behind needle, go over the needle with hook and grab yarn, pull through slip knot on hook. Also, can see this as working a single crochet over needle. Take yarn between needle and hook, to the back and repeat. Working a single crochet over needle and draw through loop on hook. Placing yarn between hook and needle to back. Repeat until all stitches are cast on. Chain a few off of the needle to leave a tail for later when we unzip our provisional cast on. Place a stitch marker or a safety pin works great, through the remaining loop on your crochet hook. You will need this to hold your chains in place. Now work your project or pattern. When your ready to unzip your cast on, take an empty needle and pick up the right leg of your stitch. Kind of an over and under method. Once you have the same stitches picked up as your worked stitches, take the safety pin out of your chain. Pull, or unzip, your cast on. It will reveal your live stitches on your needle. Day 9 of our Knit-A-Thon we have the Chinese Waitress Cast on. This unique cast on is reversible, which most cast ons are not, so this will work perfectly with reversible patterns. Another good thing about this cast on it that it doesnt require a tail to cast on. This is in the knit on category so no measuring a length for your tail. Hope you guys like this one. Hold you needles like you would be working a row, so slip knot in your left hand. Place your right needle next to the slip knot, under your left needle but over your working yarn. Bring yarn up over your left needle and around your right, as to knit, pull loop through, between the stitches on your left needle. Pull out your right needle and re-position it in your stitch. Place your right needle, still holding on to this stitch, under your left needle and repeat. *Bring yarn over left needle, around right needle as to knit a stitch. Pull loop through your stitches. Now you have two on your right needle. Bind off your first stitch. Pull out your right needle and re-position your stitch. - repeat from * until desired stitches are cast on. When done, slip last stitch on right needle onto your left one. TIP: When starting your project, coming up to that slip knot, just drop it off and dont work it into your pattern.
