Aside from fronting China’s most-watched drama series and the commercially brilliant #EternalLove, Yang Mi also holds an impressive status as an Influential Woman — literally quantifiable because of her 100 million followers on Weibo. At the end of the day, she wants to be seen as a good actress. That’s why she has no qualms about putting in the hard work, and is set on moving forward. “There were times when I’d keep thinking about an earlier shoot, even when I’m showering, the scenes float through my mind,” she recounts. “That was when it suddenly hit me, that acting is no longer simply a job to me, but something that I’m passionate enough to pursue as a lifelong career.”
