CONTENT WARNING: Although the video itself doesn't really have any objectionable content, the character I'm drawing is from a video game that DOES have violence, gore, and sexual innuendos, among other kinds of objectionable content. For that reason, I'm not marking it as "safe for kids"; I don't want little kids to be exposed to Yandere Simulator just because of this video.
I decided to do something a little bit different yesterday. You see, I was re-drawing an old piece of fanart last night, and I decided to try something I had never done before: a speedpaint! Thus, I recorded the process of the digital part of making this drawing! Now, to answer some questions anyone watching this may have.
"You use GIMP?"
Yes, I do. I would prefer to use Photoshop or something, but I'm too broke. GIMP hasn't given me too much trouble so far, so....
"You're not using a tablet, are you?"
No, I'm not. I know that pretty much every digital artist uses a tablet, but the one time I tried to use a tablet, I couldn't really get the hang of it. I mean, I probably could if I get a tablet, but because of how expensive good tablets are and how worried I am that I'll never get the hang of it, I haven't bought one.
"You were basically tracing over a pre-existing drawing. Why?"
Yes, I am basically tracing over a pre-existing drawing, but it's a pre-existing drawing that I drew myself. When I say that, I mean traditionally. Like, on a piece of paper and with a pencil and artist pens and stuff. That's pretty much how I do things; I draw the outline traditionally, scan the drawing onto my computer, and color it digitally. Drawing an initial drawing is generally a lot easier for me when it's done traditionally. It's not a problem, is it?
"What's with the music?"
It's basically music provided by YouTube to put into videos. I would use music actually related to Yandere Simulator or other kinds of songs, but I'm too scared about copyright problems to do so.
Anyway, hopefully, this is satisfactory. If people like this speedpaint, I may consider doing more in the future. Oh, and I'm also changing the channel's art (as in, my profile picture and the channel banner) soon. Just a heads up!
