Demo music for the Yamaha PSS-480/490, deconstructed and visualized with oscilloscope. Recorded using a Yamaha PSS-480.
I love this demo song. It's just so fun to me. My dad enjoys getting keyboards, whether or not we actually need them. But this sound module has been with us for a good long while, and of course I liked listening to this song. I recently looked it up, and decided to try and deconstruct it.
All MIDI data was recorded directly to Waveform 12. That data was then output to my dad's PSS-480 to record each stem (you might notice some white noise hissing). When all the instruments are playing together, it's a live recording of the demo directly off the PSS-480. That tiny pause between loops is also faithful to the module, in case you notice.
I didn't realize how long the deconstruction would be until I rendered the audio! But I hope you enjoy it!
