I went to the southern burbs for one purpose, to see CHI102 with an all EMD consist. Well, it left Chicago with a 6 EMD lashup, but then the consist totally changed in Joliet, literally; two GE B40-8W's, and two GE C44-9W's. I was super super pissed. Finally JOL202 came with an orange GP38-2 on the point, something that everyone's seen a million times. We all (Mike, Larry, Saul, Nick, and myself) headed back to UD to catch L CHI101 which never showed. Finally I left to go home but stopped in a new spot on the Chillicothe, some place never filmed before. There was a low green for a Ft. Madison stack train. I figure screw it it's probably nothing special. As I get back into the car this amazing Leslie comes out of no where. I look down the line and what looked like a Dash 9 was cruising the curve. I get my camera stuff out and wait, then I noticed it was on the wrong track... The Ft. Maddison freight was running wrong main, where as this train was running right main but had to wait. I've never gotten my head lights so confused before in my life, but it truely looked like a GE from far. This Blue Bonnet 3200 with a pitch perfect Leslie gets the approach at an original ATSF control point and stops mid way for the conductor to throw a switch onto a siding track. Just as the caboose clears a Willow Springs bound freight pounds the crossing.
