It doesn’t do anything especially good, but also doesn’t make me question my will to live. Truth be told, I had no intentions of seeing this movie. I just got bored on a Saturday and decided to see how it is. And by the time the movie was done, I felt nothing. Like this film is the definition of bland. Which if you ask me is a worse fate than being bad. At least if a movie or a show sucks, I remember them. Granted they’re more like PTSD flashbacks than memories, but my point still stands. When something is so underwhelming they tend not to leave such a long lasting impact and eventually will fade out of memory, never to be talked about again. How Netflix RUINED Avatar the Last Airbender G.I. Gio 2024-07-19 | #ATLA #AvatarTheLastAirbender #NetflixI hate Netflix’s Avatar the Last Airbender. Let me explain. Yes it’s visually gorgeous. The design team really gave it their all, bringing locations like Northern Water Tribe and Omashu to life. And the show isn’t objectively bad. There are no glaring plot holes, or inconsistencies. However, where the series starts to fall flat is with the characters. In the process of cutting out and combining episodes, they managed to throw out any debt that made the original gang so iconic. From changing motivations, defining traits, and character dynamics, it’s painfully obvious that the writers didn’t understand the original show as if they did, then they would have understood that even just a handful of these changes would be enough reason to be taken out back and shot. Character’s like Aang and Zuko have changes to their backstory that drastically affects how their actions come across. Meanwhile Katara and Sokka are damn near unrecognizable with how much of their character has changed. The idea for this franchise goes all the way back to 1997, with Snyder wanting to make a franchise on the level of Star Wars. In fact originally the project was pitched to Disney and Lucasfilms as a Star Wars movie. To which Dinesy looked at the pitch, and said I’m sorry Zack. We have our own ideas of how to screw up this franchise. It was pitched to Warner Brother on several occasions as a movie and a video game, but all being rejected. However eventually Synder worked out a deal with Netflix and as of December 21, 2023 his long awaited film franchise starters finally released. And I can safely say after watching the movie twice that maybe all those rejections should have given Snyder a hint because THIS MOVIE SUCKS. It ran for close to 10 years and while it had some incredible highs its lows where practically in the earth’s core. So with its final season airing in 2023 the stakes were high to leave an impact. But To understand what I’m about to tell you, you need to do something first. You need to believe in the impossible. Can you do that? Good, because before watching The final Season of The Flash. I thought it was Impossible to have an ending to a series, be this bad. For Context The Flash follows Barry Allen as he uses his superspeed to fight crime, and protect his home of Central City. For a movie that had its production passed around more than a popular girl on prom night, it actually being released was more than enough to shock me. But the fact that it’s also probably the best piece of Batman material we have gotten since The Dark Knight left me more stunned than your average COD 4 match. I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie ends up being my favorite comic book movie of 2022, and yes I know it’s only March, but let that just be testament to the quality of the film. The characters are fantastic. I love these interpretations of both Batman and Selina Kyle, having a more fresh faced Batman works perfectly for this story and him trying to figure out the role Batman and Bruce Wayne plays in Gotham’s future is essential in making this plot work. Not to mention the film has amazing visuals. But yall probably have heard all this before from most content creators who have seen the movie. And as much as I would love to continue in the circle jerk of this film, I wouldn't exactly be bringing anything new to the discussion. However, unlike the other multi episode events that had the crossover take place across several shows, this time around all of Armageddon was on the Flash, so many people saw this as a glimpse into what The Flash Season 8 may be like going forward. Many see Armageddon as The Flash returning to the quality it had back in the first couple seasons. However, The Flash has been strangled by the same problems for so long that before I make the claim that the show has been saved, I need to see if the writers have really learned from their mistakes, otherwise history is doomed to repeat itself. So I decided to do something a little different with this video. We’re going to break down each part of this crossover one at a time and give them a score based on issues that the show has had on a regular basis. These categories will be the shows consistency of Characters, Worldbuilding, and Plot; with each section being out of 5 that means an episode can have a maximum score of 15. I know I said my next video would be a character case on MCU Spider-Man, and trust me it will be coming, but after watching No Way home, I had to push that the hell back because all I can think about is this movie, it is quite literally attached to my frontal cortex like a parasite. My biggest fear going into this film was how the writers were going to juggle all this multiverse stuff together while still having a competent plot. And if the title of this video is any indication they failed on that aspect in almost every conceivable way. On the surface the plot seems fine with just a few problems, but the moment you do any bit of critical thinking you realize that this plot is embedded with a web of flaws. Normally something like that would be a big hit to the movies overall score, but much like those mad lads that play fallout and put all their skill points into luck, the writers decide to throw all plot competence out the window in favor of putting all their focus into writing these characters. And they pass with flying colors. They nailed the characters in No Way Home, with a few exceptions. Almost everyone of them are consistent and likable and they practically hard carry the movie as without these characters the movie would be abysmal. I have been watching the show since its premiere and stuck with it during the highs, the lows, and the weird. I would call the original movie it the most disappointing superhero movie of all time, but that would imply that this movie had some kind of high expectation. Before Justice League was released, the movies we saw in the DCEU at this time was, Man of Steel which was hit or miss for most people, Batman V Superman that fails so many characters and jumped the gun way too early for some of it’s plot points, Suicide Squad which while is a guilty pleasure of mine is pretty damn bad, and Wonder Woman that was very solid.
