All three any% runs are very much improvable, especially the psychological class I suck at (and I also got like literally no drops during that run and Im not gonna spend 5 mins fighting baron again until he gives me Unholy Runeblade like on Biological) so the time can probably go more than 20 minutes lower than this, very fun yet mentally taxing run though :)

Very glad I was able to get a run this good on my first day of doing attempts (granted I did grind for like 6 hours in that 1 day), the earlygame was actually very bad, especially 2-7 and 2-8 were both awful (as well as the mouse disconnect incident...), with only 2nd try Unholy Runeblade. I almost messed up in 4-9 and honestly kind of deserved to just lose the run there for playing so risky but I got through and somehow managed to hit the 1/4 Emerald Death after an already insane Zone 4 and then proceed to get a very smooth Zone 5 afterwards. The run is definitely still improvable down to a low 38, maybe even a 37 but the problem is that I feel like the game is really just not fun to grind anymore at that point. Idk though maybe I'll end up doing it again within a week the next time my time gets beaten, who knows XD

pretty ok run, made some adjustments to certain levels and overall just a bit cleaner than my previous run, got screwed over by a lot of RNG in Zone 3 and 4 (The Real Hobo my nemesis), but the lucky Emerald Death drop really dragged this run across the finish line in zone 5
Another thing that was interesting this run is that the "Early Heavy Gun" strategy still kind of works when Roald trolls you. He stunned the police colonel at pretty much the worst possible moment and I still got a comparable segment time to what I would normally get. That makes me wonder if there's a way to get really lucky with a stun, so it forces his heavy gun a bit later so you can theoretically hit him with Withdrawal in Shadow Blend while he has the Agile Exposure debuff. Not something worth looking into though, it might happen one day or maybe its just not possible, who knows.osu! | My 10000th SS | Yamada Tamaru - Always in my heart [Endearment]CreepyGar2023-03-17 | ~ I swear to go wherever will be 'Cause there'll be something to see and to find ~Super Mario 64 70 Star SPEEDRUN in 1:35:09CreepyGar2023-03-03 | way too awesomeSonny 100% No Stage Skips Speedrun in 12:12CreepyGar2023-03-03 | FAQ: Q: what is this weird menu that showed up at the start of the run? A: it was recently discovered that by pressing CTRL + Enter, which is the frame advance tool of flash player, this brings up a hidden debug menu. When the multiplayer battle is pressed, there are no enemies loaded in, and the battle ends after your first turn since the game sees there are no enemies anymore. The singleplayer battle always spawns in a single Level 5 Metabii, and we beat this stage because if we don't, upon pressing next stage the game for some reason loads in another multiplayer battle, which we don't want after 1 instance
Q: what benefits does this feature give / how come you have infinite money? A: because the debug fights were never actually meant to be finished by a player, they don't have a set exp and money range that should be rewarded after the end of the fight. Apparently this makes the value default back to NaN (Not a Number). Unfortunately exclusively in Sonny 1 you always stop gaining exp when leveling up, so we can't reach level 30 in a quick way in this manner (unlike in sonny 2). (I think) the reason why NaN counts as infinite money is because the game checks if the amount of money sonny has is greater than or equal to the amount of money the item costs, and the logic here is that both "NaN is greater than x" and "NaN is smaller than x" yield True for every conventional value of x, which causes it to basically be infinite
Q: why are you dropping items into the ability menu? A: it's been known for a very long time that exclusively in Sonny 1 dropping an item in certain menus will cause the item's stats to be added to your stats without actually equipping you with that item or checking if that slot is available, this causes Sonny to essentially "eat" the item and absorb its stats, which is why this glitch is often called the item-eating glitch
Q: why is this category called no stage skips? A: when pressing CTRL + Enter while in a fight, this will cause the fight to immediately end in a win and thus advances the storyline by 1 stage. Since skipping every single stage and then buying some items to beat the last stage as intended is a very uninteresting way of playing the game (some might argue this run is also not very interesting but I digress) we decided to split both any% and 100% up into 4 categories to allow for as many different ways of playing the game as possible: - glitchless: bans all glitches that have a meaningful impact on the run -no debug: bans only the usage of CTRL + Enter in any circumstance, so the item-eating glitch and such are still allowed. If you want to see a 100% run where debug tools aren't abused you can find one here youtube.com/watch?v=1TI8VG0T5gs -no stage skips: as stated earlier only the usage of CTRL + Enter in battle is banned (or in other words every stage in the game has to be completed in order by defeating all enemies) -unrestricted: anything goes, the only requirement is that the final stage is completed by defeating all enemies. The leaderboards don't yet resemble this split but it has been agreed on by the community and should hopefully be implemented soon enough
Q: why do you switch to Flame Strike in Zone 4? A: I do this because the item with the blue background I buy in that shop gives +300 fire piercing, which is the highest amount any item in the game gives of a typing sonny can actually attack with (the paladin armor gives an insane amount of poison piercing but unfortunately sonny doesn't learn any poison abilities in this game). This is useful because piercing increases crit chance (which is pretty much 100% at that point) and crit damage, which is helpful since Omen and Sinjid have a lot of health.
Q: why don't you buy more items so you can 1-shot Omen in zone 4? while you could buy enough of them to the point where you kill Omen the first time he uses his Enrage ability, but this ends up adding so much extra menuing that just stunning him with shatter bolt after the Flame Strike and going for a 2-cycle ends up being quite a lot faster. It's also nice that Sinjid is still a 1-hit KO at this point, although it's not absolutely required since you could use Subversion on yourself to survive his first Mana Bomb and then take him out afterwards. That doesn't really matter though since anything worse than a 2-cycle on Omen is not really viable since he deals far too much damage while enraged to Sonny, I haven't tested a lot with it so there might maybe be something but I think it's pretty unlikelySonny Any% no Stage Skips Speedrun in 9:45CreepyGar2023-02-20 | ...Sonny 2 Any% Heroic no Stage Skips Speedrun in 55:04CreepyGar2023-02-18 | ...Sonny 2 Any% Unrestricted in 3:52CreepyGar2023-02-17 | just remember kids, theft can get you anywhere in lifeSonny 2 Any% no Stage Skips Speedrun in 25:10CreepyGar2023-02-16 | legal version of last run, in the last run I unknowingly took advantage of a previously file that had the game completed, which gives roald max level before obtaining him, which is not possible from 1 new file which is required by src rules, so here is a run with updated strats that does follow src rules. Other than that I also didn't get a super monster milk in cackle tower and got very bad luck on the coinflips in Mud Bog Island (both for the second time in a row). Other than these things though pretty much the entire run is incredibly both in terms of RNG and execution, especially the first 40 and last 25 minutes of the run were amazing, so from another perspective I'm still very satisfied with this large improvement, it just shows that 1:45 and lower are definitely possibleShantae and the Pirates Curse 100% Speedrun WR in 1:48:34CreepyGar2023-02-04 | good RNG bad gaming, 1:47 tomorrow CluelessShantae and the Pirates Curse 100% Speedrun WR in 1:49:02CreepyGar2023-02-03 | XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD in-depth explanation of the route: aggressive reroute skipping at least 2 super monster milks from the saliva island grind saving at least 45 seconds if you get good RNG elsewhere. Unfortunately though I didn't get good enough RNG despite not being very aggressive (only got 2 super monster milks out of like 15 scorpgal which is only 12.7% likely. Getting at least 4 from 13 scorpgals which means you have one for every fight and don't farm any extra is a 57.9% chance, and that's not even taking into account the fact that you could also get them from batgals in Cackle Tower and wolves in Frostbite Island (it's only a 1% drop from them but if you don't dodge them there are over 30 wolves in your way so it's not unrealistic to get one)) so I was short 2 super monster milks at the end. In theory this isn't a problem because it's possible to one-cycle phases 2 and 3 of pirate master with a regular monster milk which I did have but I haven't practiced it and I definitely didn't trust myself enough given how nervous I was, so I lost 20 seconds on Steel Maggot and the first phase of Pirate Master instead. It might also be worth to test how difficult it is to 2-cycle Dagron with Super Pike Ball and normal Monster Milk, which I think should also be possible but I haven't tried it. This run was actually just a test run to see how the route would play out and I think it has a lot of potential since the odds required for it to be executed relatively optimally aren't that crazy (over 50% I think). This route could also be pushed even further by not buying a Super Pike Ball before the first Spiderweb Island visit (I think it's like an 8/9 chance to get at least 1 Super Pike Ball from either the batgals or the skeletons there), or by skipping the last Super Monster Milk from the Saliva Island grind, but this would obviously require significantly more good RNG than this current route
Gameplay-wise the run was pretty decent, I learned the pogo jump in Mud Bog Island before the run and although I lost a bit of time to it I still got it reasonably quickly. Aaron: 0:16 - 11:01, team 3 (hardest team out of the 4 for me because of the beautifly and dustox imo, got really scary on the scizor there at the end but I had this fight pretty well planned out so it should've never been an issue)
Bertha: 16:52 - 26:57, team 2 (2nd hardest team out of the 4. Teams 3 and 4 are literally just EQ on choice items into Azelf setup sweeps which Im very sad I didnt get, the only tough thing about this matchup is that the camerupt knows explosion which pretty much kills every one of my pokemon, the fact that I never swapped out pelipper might've made it seem easy but if that camerupt exploded turn 1 which is the only killing move it had it would've easily made Flint impossible so it was a tough call to make but I had no better options)
Flint: 33:09 - 46:31, team 2 (easily the hardest team out of the four for me, the fact that he has 2 pokemon that know Sunny Day instead of just leading with one that has the Drought ability makes the beginning of the battle so much harder to navigate. Second of all the lopunny that is on this team is unironically terrifying, its part fighting in this rom so those 130 BP high jump kicks get STAB combined with Lopunny's enormous attack stat, I pretty much just got lucky that I was able to bait out a mega kick into my Magnezone to chip it with crash damage (which is necessary because ofc it has a focus sash). I originally didnt know what 6th pokemon I was gonna take with me and decided on Porygon-Z since it seemed like a really versatile pokemon to me that I could use for a lot of things I couldn't deal with, which really showed in the way it was able to pivot in on the drifblim and outclass it. Extremely happy with how I played this one.
Lucian: 54:18-1:04:07, team 2 (definitely the second if not the easiest out of the 4, the strat is pretty much the same for every of the 4 teams since they all start with a male special attacking screen setter, the only difference is that the 4th team starts with an alakazam with a focus sash and counter which you have to work around and the hypno at the start of the third team knows hypnosis but deals a laughable amount of damage so those would've been fine too, team 1 is pretty much the same as team 2 with the exception that I would need 1 less rock polish than here, here I needed two because the medicham has a choice scarf and ice punch)Sonny 100% in 22:54 [WR]CreepyGar2022-04-18 | FAQ: - What are you doing in the options menu? Due to a mistake in the way the game was coded, when you drop any item that your class can wear in the options screen the game will try to equip that item. This works fine if you're not already wearing an item in that slot as it will simply equip the item. For some reason though, if you're already wearing something in that slot it will just add the stats of the item to your stats instead of putting the item back in your inventory. These added stats interestingly also reset if you reload the game or re-spec your character but do not reset if you die in a fight.
- How are you able to wear Veradux' equipment then, aren't you an Assassin character? It is true that trying the exploit described above wouldn't work with Veradux' equipment, however a variation of the exploit that you can see me do does let you overwrite your item slot in a different way as seen in the run. I'm not entirely sure if the stats stack and if this can be done multiples times because of that but it's only really useful for Veradux' equipment anyway. I also don't equip myself with Veradux' weapon (even though it's possible to do so) because Veradux is very useful in zone 2 to heal and support Sonny. As I am running the assassin build my health is laughably low until I get to stack a lot of items in zone 3 and the weapon Veradux is holding mostly increases magic which is entirely useless for the main attacks I use and increases his healing capabilities by a lot. Both of these exploits were patched in the later games.
- Why are you using the Assassin character? The other contender for best class is the Gunslinger which specializes in Magic and mostly uses Electro Bolt to attack. The biggest advantage Gunslinger has over Assassin is that Electro Bolt scales with both Magic and Strength, while Smash - our main attacking move - only scales with Strength. This means that there are a lot more items in Zone 3 that add to useful stats for a Gunslinger than for an Assassin, not to mention that some of the Tribe Blades that can drop in Zone 3 and the Paladin equipment we stock up on before Zone 4, greatly add to your electric piercing which further increases damage dealt by Electro Bolt. The main advantage Assassin has however is that Smash can be equipped up to 6 times while Electro Bolt can only be equipped twice. This means Assassin really outclasses Gunslinger in the battles against three opponents in Zone 2 and onwards, and to compensate there are also items in the shops in Zone 3 and 4 that boost our physical piercing to add greatly to the damage dealt by Smash (as well as the assassin having a slightly higher damage output in general).
- Is this run improvable and where is there time to be saved? This run is definitely improvable. The most obvious mistake is the terrible Baron fight in zone 3 which I came very close to losing, I have a very aggressive strategy and the baron completely outplayed me in the beginning (which is luck dependent and very unlikely) which almost caused me to lose the battle. The main improvement in this game relies on item drop luck at this point though. The main items you want to drop are Moon-Struck Horrors in Zone 2, certain Tribal Blades in Zone 3 - specifically the purple ones, and as many Blade of Lights as possible from training before zone 4, all of which boost either Strength or physical piercing.
The Moon-Struck Horrors are a 3% drop in stages 10, 11 and 15, and a 5% drop in stages 16 and 17. The purple Tribal Blades are 2 separate 8% drops from every Shaman of Blades you fight in training battles in Zone 3 (which we do to unlock Shatter Bolt) (8% for both the primary and secondary arms, both of which have the same stats). Aside from that it is also a 25% drop on Rockstar, the Council and Baron Brixius alongside the other 3 tribal blades. The red ones, which are also an 8% drop from Rock Golems in training fights are also mildly useful but the other 2 are essentially useless for an Assassin build (but really good for a Gunslinger) and are sold to buy other items with. Lastly the Blade of Light is a 15% drop each time you fight Paladin, which you do 21 or 22 times in total to train for Zone 4.
I got no Moon-Struck Horrors, 1 purple and 1 red Tribal Blade and 7/21 Blades of Light. Moon-Struck Horrors tend to be the most important ones as they can really skyrocket your earlygame, if you want an example look at AzureStar's any% world record where he gets both of the first 2 3% drops (a 1 in 1111 chance) and proceeds to fly through zone 2 because of it. Getting none is pretty standard but bad, the amount of tribal blades I got is average but could definitely be more. The 7 blades of light were really lucky (~2.9% chance to get 7 or more) and is what saved the sub 23 for this run I think. With better luck, especially with 2 or more Moon-Struck Horrors a 20:XX is definitely not unrealistic but grinding it out will be a pain for anyone attempting to do soSonny Any% in 15:55, 100% in 23:37.833CreepyGar2022-04-17 | Stages 14, 19 and 23 went brutally wrong, pretty much completely out of my control each time. Other than that I'm very proud of my decision-making and speed in this run. (My desktop audio defaulted back to the wrong source before I started recording so sorry for no audio)1/1944 Perfect Stage 7 RNGCreepyGar2022-04-15 | the ZPCI Assault has 2 attacks (Strike and Swat Fire) and the ZPCI Captain has 3 (Strike, Swat Fire and Swat Ray), with Swat Fire by far being the fastest one to get coming at you (probably around a second faster than Strike) All enemies in this fight always have an equally likely chance of choosing any attack on any given turn so for the ZPCI Assault that's a 1 in 2 chance for choosing Swat Fire on any given turn and for the ZPCI Captain that's a 1 in 3 chance. On top of that in order to save a turn you have to crit the ZPCI Captain at least on one of the two times you attack him. From personal experience this, combined with not missing any attacks throughout the fight, has roughly a 1 in 3 chance of happening (the crit on the ZPCI + not missing, that is). Finally, after the fight there are 2 possible drops that can occur, each having a 50% chance. With the Assassin Build I'm using you need the ZPCI to realistically continue the run so getting that is also a 1 in 2 chance. In this run, I got all 6 possible swat fires (2 from the ZPCI Assault and 4 from the captain), a crit on the Captain, no misses and the correct item drop after the battle. Using my 1/3 estimate (which is probably overestimating the likelihood) this gives a total 1/(2*2*3*3*3*3) * 1/3 * 1/2 = 1/1944 chance (0.051%) of this happening. Needless to say this Stage 7 segment I got in this run may be hard to beat :)Sonny Any% in 16:33, 100% in 24:51CreepyGar2022-04-13 | good zone 1 terrible zones 2 and 3 really good zone 4 1 MSH, average zone 3 RNG (I was in call with two friends none of the voices during the run are me I just couldn't talk during the run and couldn't separate the discord audio from the game audio so yea..., more motivation to beat the run I guess :P) might try to go for a 22LSWTCS All Minikits in 5:12:29CreepyGar2021-11-01 | t fish -- Watch live at twitch.tv/creepygarLego Star Wars The Complete Saga Any% (Wii) in 2:58:26CreepyGar2021-10-14 | I peaked
