In this video, we will see some of the first testing of the new X’Trapolis 2.0 trains between Newport and Laverton The first set is seen doing majorly break testing between Newport and Laverton during its first week of running tests on the main line.
This is similar to the HCMT testing that I have previously seen in 2019 - youtu.be/jKBMFsLeG4Y
One thing that is very interesting to notice is that the HCMT traction motor noises during its 2019 test have changed between then and the time they entered service, this is because they adjust multiple components on the train during testing to when it enters service, so it's efficient and works well.
The X'Trapolis 2.0 traction noises are likely to change from what is heard in this video, so its quite interesting to get clips of them prior to the changes!
