EPIK95Alright, now that it's no longer April 1st... Yep, this is real.

I have finally returned to update the description! Huge props to Braixen for being the first one to pull this off RTA, because holy shit is this hard. This blows all the other entries out of the water in terms of difficulty. I also think I can safely say that, barring any game-breaking tech discovering, this is definitely the fastest possible way to get out of bounds on this track.
I had been aware for a long time that there's a horizontal wall inside the sign at the entrance to the mall, and if it could be hit somehow, it could allow for horizontal wall glitch through the invisible wall on the right. However, the fact that the wall above it was angled outward made it seem like it could never be hit from the outside. About a week before April 2023, I decided to legitimately try to make this entry; if I made it, I would upload the run on April Fools, and if I didn't make it, I would fake it and upload it on April Fool's anyway. It took several hours of messing with the wallclip to finally go a tiny bit through the invisible wall before being pushed back out, and at that point I knew it was possible. It turns out that, despite the angle of the outer wall, you can hit the horizontal wall from really low down and still get HWG. From there I landed the entry and made as optimal of a run as I could in the next few days, and the rest is history.
It's really cool to have finally contributed something this important to the game. My last BKT was pretty cool, yeah, but it has a very low chance of being done RTA, and even then it's flap only. This is something that has been done in a world record, and will almost definitely be the optimal strat for the rest of the game's lifespan. So yeah, I'm not ashamed to say that I'm really fucking proud of this.

So I was looking at checkpoint maps the other day and noticed that the finish line on this track doesn't extend all the way to the left pole. Any sane human being would not think twice about something like that, but I decided to throw myself at the pole with shooting star for about 3 hours, and by some miracle I actually got a clip without crossing backwards. After several more hours, I was able to land back on the track while avoiding the last checkpoint using a second shroom, which resulted in this run: youtu.be/yXtIEIPQUT4
Where this really gets insane is when I sent the ghost to youtube.com/@mikul958, who proved it was possible to land back at full speed without using a second shroom. This means that the entire ultra shortcut part is done using only one shroom, which in turn means... that this is 3-lap viable. Even with the required checkpoint 1 hit, 12-13s laps should be possible with only one shroom. This track is already dead and we haven't even started superhopping yet.
Huge props to Mikul for landing the one shroom and optimizing this down to a sub 8, you should definitely go sub to him if you somehow haven't already.[MKWii TAS] DS Desert Hills Flap - 12.740 (Glitch) (Severe Brain Damage)EPIK952023-03-14 | Dude has a mini truck on him

At long last, I have mickey moused my way into a TAS BKT on a regular track. This is an idea that I've had in the back of my head for a loooong time, but only recently did I realize it could actually be possible. I believe this is the first TAS BKT with a kart ever, which is pretty insane. This is also the first demonstration of a delayed lap count on rDH.
Anyone who's seen the original Coconut Mall Olympics knows that you can drive upside down using the Tiny Titan. This is made possible by something we call barrel roll collision, which is a type of wall that unlocks your vehicle's rotation when you interact with it. Tiny Titan specifically is the easiest to flip over by far, and its square-ish hitbox makes it very stable upside down. This would be a pretty useless property, if it weren't for the fact that driving upside down allows you to drive on solid out-of bounds without being respawned. This was demonstrated with a bike in the first rPG glitch flap: youtu.be/YlRkmonCWic The problem with using a bike is that you cannot turn at all without flipping over and getting respawned. However, using a kart has its own downside: since karts can't wheelie, it's much more difficult to flip them upside down. On Desert Hills, the only barrel roll collision is on the walls of the lake, so simply dropping over the ledge like on CM is not an option. This is what stumped me for a long time, until I recently saw a video of Charlie nearly flipping the Mini Beast over using one of the trees: youtube.com/watch?v=XdJSE4nxnTU This inspired me to try with the Tiny Titan, and while I couldn't flip over using the tree, I ended up finding a much better and more convenient spot, which can be seen at the start of my run.
After flipping over, the rest of the run consists of navigating into the OOB and driving back and forth to hit the correct checkpoints. This is very slow, as maintaining the upside-down state requires your internal speed to stay below 15. Despite this, a Tiny Titan flap beats the original ultra strat by about 10 seconds, due to not having to drive around the lake or respawn at the end. Unfortunately, without a significantly faster setup, this will not be 3-lap viable. When it comes to RTA viability, however, I will say that there are no humanly impossible inputs in this run, and in fact most inputs are fairly lenient. The real challenge of pulling this off is how insanely tedious it would be, so for anyone crazy enough to try, I wish you the best of luck.
Honestly kind of surprised nobody has done this yet. I am definitely not the first person to have this idea, but I couldn't find evidence of anyone actually landing it so I guess I'm the first. This method of doing the ultra is significantly easier than the 150cc method in my opinion. The video first shows a 3 lap run with a 1 shroom clip, and then a more RTA-friendly version that uses 2 shrooms.
I haven't been focusing much on Youtube content for a while (obviously), and I don't know if that's going to change anytime soon. I will definitely upload cool stuff I find such as this, and maybe the occasional glitch compilation, but I'm not gonna promise to be more active anymore lol. I used a code to bypass the arbitrary time limit normally imposed by the game. Does that make this less of an accomplishment? I personally don't think so.
This is the hardest thing I've pulled off in Mario Kart Wii to date. Hours of theorizing and even more hours of TASing went into this run. I'll do my best to break it down and explain exactly what's going on.
The run consists of 3 major parts: The first seam ride/wall hug, the second seam ride, and the actual fast lap. Both seam rides begin with the same wallclip, as from my testing that is the only place where it's possible to get over the invisible walls. That clip is easily the hardest clip I've ever had to do; the awkward angle of the floor and the wall combined with the fact that only the middle of the road is sticky road made it absurdly inconsistent. Add that to the fact that I had to do it twice, and I probably spent close to 10 hours on that part of the TAS alone.
Another difficult part was landing into the first wallhug, which had to be shroomless as I needed the third shroom for the second landing. Fortunately Mikul was able to get a very weird bounce that rotated the bike into a good position to land. The whole point of the first wall hug/seam ride is to hit the last key checkpoint, so that once the second seam ride is complete, the finish line is actually loaded and the next lap will start.
You'll notice that towards the middle of the first wallhug I have to navigate around one of the bumpers. That single bumper is responsible for about 8 minutes of this video. If it were not there, I could instead seam ride underneath the solid OOB instead of drive on top of it, which would allow me to get on the seam next to the finish line immediately without the second seam ride. But alas, it was not meant to be.
It may be possible to get this under the 6 minute limit, but I'm sick of this track by now so I'm not gonna be the one to find out lol. Honestly, I think I like it better this way anyway. Thanks again to Mikul for helping with the first clip landing, and also to Noah for helping to theorize a route way back in 2021.If The 95% Rule DIDNT EXIST In CTGP - A Mario Kart Wii Glitch CompilationEPIK952022-08-06 | What custom track ultra shortcuts would be possible if there was no 95% rule?
This has been in the works for a while, and I finally found the motivation to finish it. Everything you see in this video was TASed by me. Some of these I discovered myself, while others are improvements of existing strats. If it looks really cool then it's probably something I found ;)
This should go without saying, but none of these ultras are possible on the official track versions. I altered the checkpoint groups to change the lap completion to much lower than 95% so that each ultra would count the lap. In order to make this realistic I made a point to not actually move any checkpoints; this is exactly how it would look if these were performed on the original tracks with no 95% rule.
This video is based on CTGP-R version 1.03.1130.

It's not incredibly optimized, but I spent a decent amount of time on it and I'm happy with how it turned out. This ultra (specifically the clip + respawn) is not actually as hard as it looks in my opinion, and I think it could be done RTA if someone's willing to grind it out. The shroomless ending cut, as far as I'm aware, is new and specific to this version of the track. I believe it is at least as hard as the ultra itself, although a more consistent method could be found later.

This is a new, 3-lap viable 200cc ultra that saves about 5 seconds over no-glitch 3lap when done optimally. It is much more precise than it looks. Clipping over the invisible wall on 200cc is not very difficult, but actually getting all the way back to the last key checkpoint before respawning is what makes this hard. If you've seen the 150cc flap ultra, the majority of the grass area to the right of the finish line is actually solid OOB; you have to avoid landing on this solid area while also going far enough to hit the KCP. This is why I use my last shroom late, so that I don't go too high and land on the solid area.
This is RTA viable in my opinion, but I'm not gonna be the one to put myself through that lol. Also, in case you're wondering why I'm using Rosa, she's actually faster in this category due to the obscene amount of miniturbos you have to do.
I'll be done with school in 2 weeks, so look forwards to more uploads over the summer :)[MKWii TAS] GCN Mushroom City Flap - 8.888 (New Ultra Shortcut!)EPIK952022-01-22 | This is probably one of the coolest things I've done so far. This was originally gonna be a Track Breakers video but I was just too proud of it to put it on another channel lol. I've always wanted to get one of these crazy flap setups to work and now, after about a month of on and off work, I finally landed the clip.
Regarding the lap itself: Is it perfect? No. Did I purposely lose a few milliseconds to get those epic digits? Maybe. The point of this run is mainly to showcase the ultra in all of its glory, but an optimized run could likely go down to a mid .7 with better momentum at the beginning.
I might make an explanation video for this, since there's so much going on and a lot of it seems pretty arbitrary, so let me know in the comments if you'd like to see that!

MY THOUGHTS: I still cannot believe this happened. I sat down and started playing this track with the intent to get a 1:32.6, which would've been enough to put me in 4th worldwide. Instead, I ended up getting 2 personal best splits in one run and beating my PB by nearly .7. Lap 1 is the second 47 I've ever gotten, and the first 47.8; lap 2 was also the best I've ever driven, and lap 3 was the second best. I don't know if I can top this run, but that 1:31 is so tantalizingly close now...The Very First Performance of the NEW Jungle Cliff Glitch - Mario Kart Wii CTGPEPIK952021-07-24 | This was recorded before the CTGP update, but I decided to make it public because it's kind of funny. As the title says, this was the first ever glitch run of this track. Until the end of the video, I wasn't even sure that this ultra would work, which is why I made no attempt to drive decently. This was also done before Enzo discovered that you could slow wheelie into the lap count area instead of riding the seam, which is faster.
I'm actually really happy that I was able to find this, as the old version of Jungle Cliff had my favorite ultra shortcut in CTGP, and I was pretty disappointed that it got patched. Now, I think I actually prefer this version (and not just because I discovered it lol) as it is quite easy to pull off despite its complexity. These are all of the CT glitch categories that are actually slower than the no-glitch record. It's important to note that any ghost that enters or exits key checkpoint regions in an unexpected way is automatically considered a glitch time; as a result, some records shown in this video aren't ultra cuts at all. There's also a lot of almost-ultras that could save time, but don't count the lap due to the dreaded 95% rule. As far as I know, I am the first person to make the shroomless glitch here. I made it with spear and then flame runner first, as you can see on my top 5, but the offroad lost way too much time. Now I finally made it with dolphin dasher, which saved a ridiculous amount of time as I expected; what I did not expect was to actually beat the no-glitch shroomless BKT, a 1:58.675 by Bjorn. As you can see in the comparison, I only beat him by 29 milliseconds, and the offroad stat on the ice is what saved me.
This has enormous potential for improvement, as it could theoretically be done all 5 laps (although it is extremely inconsistent), but the most interesting part is that this could be used in the actual glitch WR, which does 3/5 glitches using a mushroom each time.An Acceptable Splatoon 2 Snipe CompilationEPIK952021-02-19 | In honor of Splatoon 3's announcement, here's a montage from about a year ago that I never uploaded :)Every Custom Track Ultra Shortcut in CTGP [Part 1] - Mario Kart WiiEPIK952021-02-12 | You've all seen regular Mario Kart Wii's ultra shortcuts... but what about custom tracks? Well, here it is. I finally found enough motivation to finish this off, and I'm very relieved to have this done. In the 4 years that we've been on 2.1, this is the first actual project I've fully finished. I did this to prove to myself that I can still decorate competently, and I'm honestly proud of the way it turned out. There are still a few changes I'd like to make, such as making it a bit brighter or adding text at the beginning, but this is more or less the final version.
About the level itself: The second half of the video is 25% speed so you can really see how difficult this is. If you saw the original layout, you can probably tell that I buffed the shit out of it. This is easily top 1 on the current challenge list. Due to its short length, it's probably still easier than VSC or Hypnosis, but it's not that far off. I am nowhere near good enough or dedicated enough to verify this, so if anyone thinks they can take down this beast, leave a comment or hit me up on discord (Epik95#9937).
Finally, to those of you that waited 8 months for this video, I really appreciate you guys. Thanks for sticking with me despite my wavering motivation.totally meant to do thatEPIK952021-01-12 | perfect gameplay[MKWii BKT] DS Airship Fortress 2:05.210 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-12-20 | INFO: Shroomless BKT at time of upload Set 12/20/2020 Splits: 41.672 / 41.746 / 41.792 Previous Record: 2:05.232 by gold@shr
MY THOUGHTS: This is a pretty nice time. Lap 1 is my second best split ever, and combine that with a .7 lap 2 and I was on my best pace by far going into lap 3. The only glaring mistake was the crate section lap 3. My nerves were so bad that my hands were literally shaking, causing me to drop the wheelie after the U-turn. Funnily enough, though, this mistake actually saved the run, as I would've hit one of the fire pillars if I had been going any faster. Those pillars are actually a significant barrier to future improvement, as it's very difficult to get a straight path through them, even if I go to the right like I did in this run. Maybe going to the left of the crates will be faster? I'm gonna try to improve this soon, but first, I have some unfinished business in Geometry Dash...[MKWii BKT] GCN Luigi Circuit 1:20.774 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-11-27 | INFO: Shroomless BKT at time of upload Set 11/27/2020 Splits: 27.041 / 26.908 / 26.825 Previous Record: N/A
MY THOUGHTS: This track just got updated, and since the old version was my longest lasting BKT (almost 3 years old!), I felt obliged to continue my reign by being the first to submit a shroomless time for this track. Might come back here later because this run is a bit messy.this is hardEPIK952020-11-20 | FINAL VERSION: youtu.be/L2oMa0v_J8I
The Gauntlet is nearing completion... but until then, here's some filler.
I'm gonna have way more free time next week, so hopefully I should be able to finally finish this project. Like I predicted in my update video, college work has dramatically slowed my progress on this, but it's almost done. To those who have waited, I really appreciate it.[MKWii BKT] Desert Mushroom Ruins 2:19.344 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-10-30 | INFO: Shroomless BKT at time of upload Set 10/30/2020 Splits: 46.684 / 46.353 / 46.307 Previous Record: idk lol
MY THOUGHTS: I was 2nd WW Shroomless on the last version of this track, but I quit playing it because the ending mushrooms were so horribly inconsistent. Now the update is finally in CTGP, so this track is pretty enjoyable. I'm definitely gonna improve this later.[MKWii BKT] DS Figure-8 Circuit 1:23.632 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-09-14 | The Gauntlet is coming, but I started college so idk how long it will take. MY THOUGHTS: I was looking at shroomless leaderboards and I guess I somehow got the record here without even realizing it, so I decided to improve it to an actually decent time. That being said, this run isn't too great. Lots of drops and nudges and stuff. Also, that goomba lap 2 is an asshole.[MKWii BKT] Jungle Cliff (Glitch) 2:01.626 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-09-03 | INFO: Shroomless BKT at time of upload Set 9/3/2020 Splits: 1:07.385 / 38.421 / 15.820 Previous Record: 2:09.974 by Justin
MY THOUGHTS: This is the best ultra shortcut in CTGP, hands down. I did some research to figure out why it works and to get more consistent at it, and the amount of checkpoint manipulation is ridiculous. Also, it's just really fun to pull off. I might make a video explaining it at some point, so let me know if you'd want to see that. Anyway, the previous record didn't use the shroomless entry at the very beginning, which is where all the time save is from. I may try to improve this soon.[MKWii BKT] Abandoned Boardwalk 2:51.810 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-08-28 | AT LAST, I CAN RECORD MARIO KART IN HD!

MY THOUGHTS: I believe sneakster is better here because a) This track has several wheelie realignments, on which the flame runner loses time due to its poor acceleration; b) The boardwalk turns are the perfect radius for the sneakster's drift; and c) I just felt like using the sneakster. This run is pretty rough, so I will likely improve this soon.[MKWii BKT] DS Airship Fortress 2:05.500 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-08-22 | INFO: Shroomless BKT at time of upload Set 8/14/2020 Splits: 41.911 / 41.847 / 41.742 Previous Record: 2:05.550 by RE: br»
MY THOUGHTS: This track is really fun to drive, but it gets kind of annoying after a while. The alignment into the railing ride laps 2 and 3 are really inconsistent, which is funny because I don't even know if that's faster than just going through the bullet bills, but hey, it worked out I guess. My biggest regret is that I missed the fast chain drift past the moles all 3 laps. I might come back to this later idk.Soon...EPIK952020-08-13 | FULLY DECORATED VERSION: youtu.be/L2oMa0v_J8I[MKWii BKT] Yoshis Woolly Raceway 2:25.499 (Shroomless)EPIK952020-07-30 | Finally decided to come back to this game. MY THOUGHTS: I started playing this track 2 days ago, and this is by far the most consistent run I've had. It's still very, very improvable though, so I may come back to this later. I'm also the first person to implement the little turn skip strat after the big ramp, so that's cool.
