2000's X-Men, from 20th Century Fox, was the film that ultimately kickstarted the modern superhero film boom. It involved a young upcoming executive called Kevin Feige, ultimately the father of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It saw Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and more in a big ensemble case. It was was nearly cancelled. Wolverine was recast very late. And director Bryan Singer would run what was allegedly an 'unusual' set.
