The last thing he remembers was seeing two brown eyes staring back at him and Roseph, and suddenly being yanked by two wrinkly hands from the accursed laptop's very-own screen.For some prior context, Jacob Venderlin's old laptop from 16 years ago was stolen by Roseph during the great heist of Cembered, and McGullen managed to keep it hidden somewhere despite everything.He specifically stole it from an old archive of numerous things related to valve. Reading through some papers attached to the laptop, he figures out what "Project V" is, and remembers something else.Due to the extraordinary nature of this sentient being created from Jacob's naivety, the laptop and its contents were considered to be worth truckloads of money as many other competitors wanted Project V for themselves. Oswald is of course pleased to hear this as he'd receive a cut of that money too.But just to be sure that they're not dreaming too big, they both agree to check the contents of the laptop to make sure.
