Yesterday I headed up to the incredible Xenia Card Show at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia, Ohio, and it was an absolute blast! With three huge buildings packed full of cards, this is easily one of the biggest and best monthly card shows in the area.
One of the highlights of the day was getting to hang out with my buddy Tim from @GratefulVintageCards . We talked baseball cards, YouTube, life, and just had a great time walking the show together. I even helped Tim track down a really cool vintage Reds card!
As for pickups, I found an awesome 1964 Venezuelan National League Pitching Leaders card featuring Sandy Koufax, Juan Marichal, Warren Spahn, and one of my all-time favorite Cincinnati Reds pitchers, Jim Maloney. You all know how much I love Venezuelan cards, so this was a huge pickup for me.
But the biggest moment of the day was finally completing my entire 1976 Cincinnati Reds Icee Cup lid set! I had been piecing this set together for a while, and I found a dealer with a whole stack of lids that helped me finish the complete 12-lid tribute set to the 1976 World Champion Big Red Machine. Seeing legends like Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, and the rest of the Great Eight all together made this such a special pickup for my collection.
