I have owned several safes over the years, but this is my first one using palm vein recognition technology, and I have to say I was genuinely surprised. The Xegis Palm Vein Biometric Gun Safe consistently opened faster for me than my traditional safes. You simply hover your hand over the sensor, and it unlocks almost instantly. Even in total darkness, with sweaty or dirty hands, it performed reliably. The setup was straightforward as long as I followed the instructions precisely. Programming the palm scan and master code only took a few minutes, and I was impressed that it could store multiple palm profiles.
The build quality feels solid for what this safe is designed to do. It is lightweight but constructed from aircraft-grade alloy materials, and it comes with a security cable and mounting options to secure it to a desk, nightstand, or vehicle. Multiple access methods give peace of mind, including palm scan, numeric keypad, and backup keys. After testing it in unrealistic scenarios, my conclusion is that this safe excels at what it is meant to do. It is not a heavy vault designed to defeat determined thieves with tools, as it has thin metal and a flexible door. However, for responsible firearm owners who want quick access while keeping firearms secured from children, guests, or unauthorized hands, it performs extremely well. The palm vein scanner is the real standout feature here, offering fast, contactless access when seconds matter. For bedside, vehicle, or quick-access storage, this safe strikes a strong balance of speed, convenience, and practical security.
