We were already planning on redoing our old record since we knew sub 5 minutes was possible. With the addition of maces for the soulbeast and the buff to the piggy we were able to gain more instant cc for the boss phases. This in turn allowing the chronomancers to save more of their cc for the add phases instead.
On my own performance I was prepared to play soulbeast but as one of our usual mesmer players was unable to join I had like 10 minutes of golem practice prior to refresh my muscle memory. As this fight is quite tricky to find a rotation for due to the short phases I apologize in advance to all my mesmer mains.
To talk briefly about why each class was chosen:
Soulbeast - The best burst DPS that you can get. One Wolf Pack is available for every single burst phase, meaning that the damage output that soulbeast can do while providing large amounts of CC was simply unmatched.
Herald - The best boon provider. Provides every boon you could need while also doing very respectable damage.
Chronomancer - The best option as alac support due to their superior cc and high burst.

The fight itself feels a bit lack luster so we only spent two nights on it. First time was just getting comfy and doing some basic class testing. The overall strat was very basic stack up and do our best to pump. The alacrity supports were responsible for grabbing the orbs to use the special action key. So for class choices.
Scourge - This class is just fully capable of doing great damage while bumping barrier, while having easy access to cc. The shades were a great tool to cc anyone getting taunted.
Harbinger - The harbinger just like the scourge had solid access to cc and lots of damage. Due to not really needing any real utility this was a solid choice.
Tempest - Lets be fair xChris on a non ele spec just feels weird. The slot was totally open so since it was his role he got to pick his poison.
Druid - As always the supports get the tough job of carrying the mechanics. Our druid was both our tank and cc specialist. Since the tanking is proximity based he faced Dagda away from the group. When Dagda did her Spinning Nebula it was the job of the druid to tank the shots for the debuff so the dps could focus on having high damage uptime.
The largest roadblock was trying to prevent Scarlet from triggering mechanics. There seemed to be no consensus as to why she would sometimes spawn projectiles/blues and sometimes not, this left us with a lot of theories to test. Eventually we managed to find the trigger for preventing the mechanics, and subsequently abused it to lower kill times drastically.
To talk briefly about why each class was chosen: Soulbeast - The best burst DPS that you can get. One Wolf Pack is available for every single burst phase, meaning that the damage output that soulbeast can do while providing large amounts of CC was simply unmatched. We had 2 soulbeasts run Leader of the Pack, and the rest used Oppressive Superiority. This was to prevent OWP queuing which would cause damage outside of "Sic 'Em!".
Herald - The best boon provider. Provides every boon you could need while also doing very respectable damage.
Specter - Provides solid Alacrity and hard carries the CCs. Pistol with paralyzation sigil and Basilisk Venom made this spec irreplaceable for the run.
Chronomancer - We learned that it was possible to bring a Chronomancer over a specter as the alacrity provider with some added CC from the heralds. This change managed to increase the group DPS by a good amount as chrono has much more burst than specter.
I'd like to give a special thankyou to Stina and Nelli for helping us troubleshoot the mechanic issue.
The main splits we did was simultaneous River of Souls and Escort, and to follow that the River group killed Eater of Souls while the escort group cleared gate. After Eater, the Wing 5 group left to help finish Gate, then everyone returned to Wing 5 to finish Statues.
With a more complex boss order it might've been possible to do something similar with Trio, however this means that we would miss out on the portals as matthias pre-event. The time save would be minimal with a large potential for instance problems during swaps, as well as lowman Trio being a lot more risky time-wise with wipes.
For classes we let people play what they were most comfortable on for DPS. We found with runs like this, familiarity with ones class is worth far more in the run when things go wrong as it makes recovery much easier, meaning a much smoother run.
Scourge - Gained pistol, gained a lot of life force generation, and as a result, gained a hell of a lot of damage. We had such an excess of life force we could drop Signet of Undeath entirely and have 2 free utility slots, meaning one Scourge ran Serpent Siphon for Aegis, and the other ran Spectral Grasp for Breakbar.
Herald - Gained greatsword, and a lot of damage. We decided to completely drop the healing portion and just survive on the passive regeneration we granted eachother. This let the herald play full damage.
Spectre - Gained damage, nothing really changed apart from it just simply doing more damage now.
A nice quick kill since we expect Scourge to get heavily nerfed in the coming balance patch.

We orginially planned to get sub 4:30, however this quickly turned into trying to beat the all time 4:12 record. While we weren't able to do it with the current patch before SotO, we're confident that if we had more time we could've matched the record or potentially beaten it. There's definitely plans to return here after seeing what SotO has to offer.
Onto the class choices: The most difficult part here was getting enough damage when compared to other lowmans. Many of the recent gorseval lowmans had taken advantage of alacrity specter while it could provide large amounts of barrier, which it no longer can do. This meant we had to find a source of healing somewhere without sacrificing too much damage in the process. That brings us to the team comp.
Hybrid Herald - Combining healing, condition damage output, and strong passive cc, this was an extremely strong contender for the quickness role. The only downside to herald was that it could not provide stability or aegis for the slams without losing significant amounts of damage. The alternative to this was to bring a celestial firebrand which could provide aegis, however the quickness was unreliable due to the small radius application.
Alacrity Specter - Despite the nerfs to the barrier output, the damage did get quite a nice buff, meaning that the damage lost taking a hybrid class is made up for mostly here. It also helped we had Senapi himself. It also had the ability to provide some stability for when Gorseval decided to change attack patterns or the adds got a little feisty.
Condition Scourge - The recent buffs to this class made it absolutely insane for this fight. Solid condition output with amazing cleave for both the phase adds and the split adds made this a clear choice for DPS. Both scourges also took Serpent Siphon to provide blocks for gorseval slams, meaning that the herald could run good legends.
While we didn't get the world record, I'm insanely proud of the guys for getting so close in such a short time. We're looking forward to seeing what's possible in terms of lowmans after SotO.
PoVs: Nicho (Hybrid Quickness Herald) - youtu.be/aKB3iWXpvbk Senapi (Alacrity Specter) - youtu.be/zhztAJhYkB0 Pip (Condition Scourge) - youtu.be/MCJyZjcOutQ Robsy (Condition Scourge) - No PoV[Area] Kaineng Overlook CM | 6:19 | Herald[Area] Nicho2023-08-22 | This has been a bit of a long term project in Area mostly due to the difficulty of filling the squad that being said we finally got a good kill. Our last phase we spent very little time on and due to time constraints we had to settle for this but it is very likely we will revisit this for a better kill soon. Huge thanks to Killdmaster and others for your efforts in this, without you gamers we wouldn't have been able to do this. That being said enjoy.
The strat was to do the classic VG mid-strat for phases 1 and 2, then stay middle for the start of phase 3, then move out of middle before the central seeker respawned. This saved quite a bit of time we would otherwise have had to spend moving or controlling the seekers. For the split phases, everyone got the red buff and moved to blue guardian, with the druid grabbing green. By pulling all 3 guardians together it allowed the group to cleave and CC down all 3 guardians at the same time.
To explain the composition in detail:
Power Soulbeast - The damage core of the group. With Vale Guardian taking 36% more power damage than condition damage it made little sense to bring more than the minimum amount of condition builds required. With the insane burst of power soulbeast which is available every phase, and the built in dodge on sword 3 for blues, this class was a sure shot for a spot in the comp.
Hybrid Soulbeast - Originally we tried with another power soulbeast, however the red guardian took too long to die in the split phases causing our kill times to be much longer than we wanted. To alleviate this, instead of swapping our quick support to a condition class, we opted to take a hybrid soulbeast instead of a power soulbeast. This was because it brought the right amount of condition damage needed, and could still deal respectable burst dps on the boss by taking advantage of the lower armour of Vale Guardian.
Condition Virtuoso - Essential for both condition damage, cleave in the split phase, and seeker control in the final phase. With it also having respectable power and burst damage it made this class essential for the fight.
Power Quickness Herald - With the bonuses from Unsuspecting Strikes and Swift Termination, power quickness herald puts out an extremely respectable amount of damage in both phases 1 and 3, only being weaker in phase 2 due to not having either buff active at the start of the phase. The split phase strategy also makes this class essential with the ability to use Surge of the Mists on all 3 guardians to finish the phase quickly.
Heal Alacrity Druid - The best tank for Vale Guardian hands down. With access to burst healing, seeker control, evades with sword 3, blocks for denying blue spawns, range to grab the green guardian, and AoE CC for ending the split phase quickly, little more needs saying about the reason as to why this class was chosen.
I'd like to thank CasualElitist for helping with the initial comp testing and not killing us with the seekers.

Overall we got really lucky with the rng and timings.

So [Tub] is now happy to present after a few weeks the new Deimos lowman record.
Once again the most difficult aspect was surviving. As with the previous record, having only 4 players means taking all of the Tears is impossible. Even with the increased group DPS from the new composition, the aggressive builds we took gave us little in the way of survivability. Many choices and builds were theorised to help combat this, but we eventually decided on using very tanky supports, coupled with food-swapping DPS Virtuosos to optimise both the damage output and the survivability of the squad.
To quickly explain the class choices: Virtuoso - The ability to not only cleave, but also regenerate health due to the Jagged Mind trait make this class a no brainer for the two DPS options. While cleaving this nearly doubled the regeneration from the bleeding, which was invaluable in the later phases when dealing with both Prides and Tears. Around halfway through the fight, the Virtuosos would swap from Cilantro food to Peppercorn food. This added 10% damage reduction was to help them survive the damage from both Deimos' aura after the increased Hands buff, and the damage from the Tears.
Druid - As Druid can now provide Alacrity, it became the single best tank for the fight. One of the major problems with lowmanning Deimos is making sure that Saul survives. With the addition of Druid, the group and Saul not only have a good source of Healing and Alacrity, but also lots of Immobilize through the use of Jacaranda. Due to the way spirits work, the Druid could never be taken in the greens, as this would kill the spirits and result is major Alacrity downtimes.
Spellbreaker - The best handkite. The ability to provide quickness while kiting was exactly what this strat needed, and with Spellbreaker also having access to Battle Standard for emergency resurrects in the later phases, immense amounts of CC to help deal with the Thief and Drunkard, and losing nothing by being taken into the greens, Spellbreaker was the perfect pick for the fight.
I'm extremely happy with this kill and would like to thank everyone involved for giving up some time over the Christmas break to help grind it out.
Like most groups this has been a very fun and enjoyable journey together. Getting that first clean kill together felt really good and I look forward to doing this weekly.[Area] Vale Guardian | 2:10 | Shared Banner Berserker[Area] Nicho2022-03-13 | This was an interesting kill to say the least. Playing without EoD specs in an undoubtedly EoD spec-favoured meta made for some fun theorycraft. As with most organised speedkills of VG, the basic idea is to condense the support roles and condition roles. This is because VG takes more power damage (36% to be exact), so you want to maximise the amount of pure DPS power classes.
We started out testing the good ol' PI Dragonhunter stack, which worked well and we practiced it for a good number of hours. A last minute swap to a Soulbeast + Berserker comp was made because they're simply superior.
Onto the composition:
Soulbeasts: One Wolf Pack is very good at bursting. With the added benefit of the rotation lining up for the boss and split adds, and decent access to CC on splits with axe 4, it was a very strong class and helped massively with letting up skip some greens by decreasing phase times by a good few seconds. Both Soulbeasts ran Sword mainhand, this was so that they could take the Essence of Speed trait which allowed for more Alacrity uptime during split phases due to the extended duration, so that the OWP and bursts would come off cooldown in time.
Renegades: Alacrity and condition damage combined. With the new ritualist stats, the Renegades could provide permanent Alacrity to their subgroup while still being condition damage. This meant that they could also take on the Red Guardian and then we didn't need to bring a dedicated condition DPS class. Both also continued to use the Devastation traitline. This was so that they could provide Assassins Presence to their subgroups during the boss phases which helped out with damage massively compared to the personal damage gained from Invocation.
Firebrand: Condition damage and Quickness. We needed another condition DPS class, and with Firebrand still being very strong and quite bursty for a condition class it was a sure pick. It has great access to CC skills too like sanctuary and Blazing Edge which made the Red Guardian very easy to take down.
Dragonhunter: We had a spot in the composition for a fill DPS slot. We decided to bring a Dragonhunter due to it being able to precast traps, burst hard, and provide solid split damage and CC. The reason why Perfect Inscriptions was not ran was due to having 2 condition-based classes in the subgroup; the damage which would be gained by the others would not make up for the damage lost from the Dragonhunter themselves in most cases.
Berserkers: Shared Banners and some good Boon application. The reason why we decided to bring 2 Berserkers was them having fantastic boss DPS, and the ability to split Banners and bring "For Great Justice!" which provided a good amount of split Might and Fury to the subgroups, aswell as capping the non-druid sub during the main phases. As the Berserk extension and CC were not needed, both took Signet of Might for extra damage, instead of Wild Blow or Outrage.
Chronomancer: Quickness and Boon strip for the Blue Guardian. As well as providing solid DPS for the boss, the Chronomancer was crucial to make the split phases work as they provided the majority of CC to the Blue Guardian aswell as the Boon strip from the Sword auto-attack chain and clones.
Druid: Even with Grace of the Land nerfed to 5-man, Druid just brings too much to the team. The Druid acted as the tank for VG, as well as controlling the Seekers during the main phases by using Entangle. Also with 10-man spirits still existing, bringing the Druid meant that we could allow both Soulbeasts to take Signet of the Wild and burst their hearts out. We made good use of some of the newer gear and food while using a classic speedkill strategy. It revolved around bouncing the tether mechanic in order to maximise the amount of stacks on Qadim, and push the DPS hard to get the 40-30% skip.
The Composition:
Renegades: Solid DPS choice and fantastic CC capabilities. The fight can be made significantly faster by simply optimising DPS and CC, which Renegades helped with massively. Both would also get hit by the pylon to start with 100 energy for good opening damage on top of CC'ing the pylon.
Scourges: The kiters and corrupts. Even after the sustain nerfs, Scourge can easily survive the encounter as a kiter. With them also bringing significant amounts of corrupts they proved to be invaluable in this comp. During the pylon destruction phases, they were also responsible for portaling the group to and from Qadim using Sand Swell to help with DPS uptime.
Mirage: What it lacks in CC it makes up for in sheer team support and damage capabilities. Solid DPS while providing Alacrity and Might was simply too good to not take.
Firebrands: Quickness is strong, so are Firebrands. They also provided stability for the knockbacks through "Stand Your Ground!" Nothing else to add for these guys really.
Daredevil: The main DPS class of the group due to its insane strength on this fight. The ability to start the fight with a precasted trap was invaluable in the first phase while we built stacks, and having the Unstable Artifact as a steal item made this class very mobile and able to get clutch resurrects if something went wrong. The Daredevil also dropped the Sigil of Doom in favour of bringing Sigil of Bursting and Sigil of Nullification on weapon swap for the final 20% to ensure that Qadim had as little Resolution uptime as possible.
Druid: Once again acting as the tank, it also brought spirits and a good amount of sustain which was invaluable from 40% onwards. Focused pet control was crucial to the druid gameplay here (idk wtf im on about i play soulbeast lmao)

Area found out that rotating compositions and members during kill day is far more effective than doing class rotations. Make the DPS player tank and the tank can kite NODDERS
In all seriousness, we were very torn as to what to play this time on Deimos. We had our Condition strategy which we knew worked, but we had seen from a number of guilds that Power was still very strong here. We spend many hours practicing Power but eventually did a last minute swap back to Condition. It gave us safer and more consistent kills, at the cost of a potentially worse time.
The squad composition was very similar to our last Deimos kill, but we decided to try and make it a bit more aggressive:
Renegades - They both took Righteous Rebel to provide Alacrity to the group and dealt some very respectable DPS. This was an aggressive change from the last composition where we took a single Condition Alacrity Renegade which would also provide a small amount of sustain to the group, at the risk of one of them being selected as a sacrifice.
Scourges - They provided some essential sustain to the squad which let us drop the healer again, even with the reduced sustain from the aggressive changes. One also kited the hands as all the attacks could be performed at range.
Firebrands - Quickness providers and one acted as the Tank. With the bursty nature of its Conditions it also makes it a very strong class for Deimos in general when choosing to play Condition-based compositions. All around an excellent class.
Soulbeast - As per usual, we needed something to provide the Sun Spirit for the team since we dropped the typical Druid. Soulbeast also provided some good DPS and some unique buffs through Vulture Stance and One Wolf Pack.
Herald - The Boon support of the squad. Provides permanent Fury, Swiftness, Regen, Protection, and a solid chunk of Might through the Facet, Traits, and fire field blasts. A key class to the composition which is also incredibly interesting and fun.
Berserker - The only Power class taken here. Condition Berserker is just painful to play here and Power will perform much better even in Condition-based compositions. And Banners good.[Area] Conjured Amalgamate | 1:37 | Berserker[Area] Nicho2022-02-15 | Log: https://dps.report/J0r7-20220207-220333_ca
Since the update to One Wolf Pack and Impossible Odds on Conjured Amalgamate, I've been very excited to try both in a speedkill with Area. While we did use the Aves composition, we stuck to the original strategy of hand swapping, due to not having the time to practice the one-burst thoroughly enough. With that said we did adapt the classes slightly to suit the squad more and give us more consistent kills.

Dragonhunters - The Dragonhunters all ran Perfect Inscriptions with Bane Signet to stack the buff during the burst phases. This massively increased the spike damage of the group during the burn phases. They also combo'd "Feel My Wrath!" with Moa Stance on the Soulbeast to upkeep Quickness on the whole of subgroup 1. Leap of Faith was used during the small downtime windows in the fight to heal the Frost Spirit being provided by the other Soulbeast.
Soulbeasts - As mentioned above, they had split duties in this composition. They both dropped Signet of the Wild, and one provided the squad with Frost Spirit for that amazing 5% damage increase, and the other helped with Boons in the first subgroup. The elephant in the room is One Wolf Pack which was used during the 90-50% burn phase to increase the burst massively, as One Wolf Pack scales to an insane level with the sword debuff. On top of all this, the Soulbeasts provided a lot of burst damage themselves.
Berserker - Used the Tactics traitline to provide high Empowered Allies uptime for the squad and also to generate a bit of Might using the trait Phalanx Strength. They also ran "To The Limit!" and Last Blaze for high uptime on Berserk with our phase timings (everywhere except 1st burst) and instant Berserk at the start of the fight. We went with an off-hand Warhorn as our Berserker was responsible for Sword collection and would have gained very little from running a Greatsword in the 2nd weaponset (we thought about this for a while but it was very difficult to make it work). The blast finishers from Warhorn were handy for the Might generation at the start of the fight and Call Of Valor provided Vigor uptime for our Dragonhunters and Barrier for the squad at certain parts of the fight.
Tempest - Provided 25 Might for the whole squad while bringing other utility such as Sand Squall and conjure weapons which were utilised by the Soulbeast in subgroup 1. Might share through Heat Sync was based on two alternating patterns which relied on blast finishers/other might sources and Overload Fire coming from the Tempest at certain points. They also collected 5 swords during the first burn phase so that the hand after could be bursted down very quickly. The rotation was constantly changing due to our phase timings getting faster as practice went on, so very proud of Mike for being able to pull it off.
Chronomancer - Provided pulls needed for the swords and was the Quickness provider for subgroup 2. They also collected 2 swords during the 2nd burn phase so that the double hands phase after the clap could be very quickly bursted down.
Big thanks to Matthias, Stevo and Tyrro for helping with the grind and composition.Guild Wars 2 2022 01 30 19 11 52[Area] Nicho2022-01-30 | ...[Area] Largos | 2:46 | Staxe Mirage PoV[Area] Nicho2022-01-17 | Largos is always a bit of a difficult boss for us but we gave it out best shot and came out with a pretty nice kill. It's been a while since Largos last came up in the Raid League and there's been a lot of major changes that affected the boss in a lot of ways. Resolution got introduced, so letting Kenut steal Quickness for more Confusion procs was out of the question, not to mention the changes to the way Confusion deals its damage.
Class Choices:
With only two classes in the composition, one would think this section would be short, but there were a lot of variants to talk about here.
Mirages - These were split into three different builds. Axe Mirage, Staff Alacrity Mirage, and Staff Axe Mirage (or Staxe as we called it).
Axe Mirages - The DPS guys. Axe has the highest DPS of all three variants, but provides no boons. Nothing much to really say about these guys, they just went full DPS mode.
Staff Alacrity Mirages - Provides Alacrity and Might, some Fury, and the majority of the Vulnerability. This was because they dropped Superior Sigil of Bursting for Superior Sigil of Frailty. This meant that we could drop the typical Druid from the composition as Vulnerability was no longer a problem.
Staff Axe Mirages - These guys were in the middle of the other two builds, more support than the Axe build, and more DPS than the Staff build. They helped to top off the missing Vulnerability and help cover the Alacrity between phases and help with Might ramp up.
Firebrands - The tank and psudohealer of the squad. They raid a mix of Celestial and Seraphs gear to minmax damage and healing, while also providing the Quickness, Regeneration, Vigor, Might, Fury and Protection for the squad.
Overall a fun strategy and theorycraft which I'm happy we made work.

The interesting part about this kill was actually the builds. The Dragonhunters and Soulbeasts both ran Rune of the Spellbreaker. This was because of the inconsistency of of the Scholar buff, and the fact that Slothasor would never gain boons.
Class Choices:
Dragonhunter - The bread and butter of the composition. With high burst damage, self sustain, and solid CC and team buffing with Perfect Inscriptions, Dragonhunter was a sure pick for the fight. Signet of Courage was also used to provide even more passive regeneration to help synergise with the Loud Whistle trait on Soulbeasts as well as helping out with general sustain. Shield of Courage would also block the shake projectiles which meant that the team didn't have to spend time dodging the projectiles and could carry on DPSing Slothasor.
Soulbeast - One Wolf Pack is strong. By bringing two of these we could very consistently skip the 10% Breakbar through the insane burst. One Soulbeast also brought Frost Spirit for that nice 5% damage buff.
Herald - Brings all the Boons you need and some very nice boon extension and CC capabilities too. A perfect class for the fight. Surge of the Mists was off cooldown for every single Breakbar resulting in Herald and Renegade carrying the CC for most of the fight.
Renegade - Alacrity, CC, Stability, Lightning Fields. This class was MVP when it came to CC. With Dragonhunters and Soulbeasts having Leap Finishers for Lightning Fields, this gave us yet another option to destroy the Breakbars even faster. Jalis was also brought to give Stability to the team, as the Aegis from the Dragonhunter's Shield of Courage couldn't be used as it was being saved for the shake attacks.
Berserker - Banners strong. CC good. Do I really need to explain this?
Chronomancer - 10 man Quickness, Boon extension, good CC, perfect for the composition we used. It also grouped up the adds so that the Soulbeasts could easily pull them into the group using Path of Scars to quickly cleave them down.
Overall a very fun kill and one I'm proud of. Everyone worked hard to make it work and we had a lot of testing and discussion around what to play from composition to specific builds. A big thankyou to Ronny and Zion for helping out behind the scenes too.

The most difficult part of this run was simply surviving. With only 4 players, taking all of the Tears becomes impossible, meaning that you need a lot of sustain and bulk to survive through it all. Every player had to take some Toughness in order to survive the encounter, and with this added bulk we actually managed to run Writs on both the Scourge and the Renegade to help with the damage lost from the stat changes.
Onto the class choices:
Scourge - Very strong in terms of DPS as Plaguelands lines up very well with the Unnatural Signet and the ability to DPS through many of the mechanics. The Barrier spam and Signet of Vampirism also added a good amount of sustain to the party to help with surviving. On top of all this, Scourge has access to a lot of CC naturally through its kit, meaning that you can break the Saul's very consistently. Epidemic also offered a very strong burst DPS option for helping deal with Saul's and gaining extra DPS on Deimos.
Renegade - Obvious choice for Alacrity here. Solid burst DPS with Unnatural Signet and very strong self sustain with Battle Scars made Renegade insanely strong. With it also having access to CC on all available legends and weapons it also made for an excellent CC class for the Saul's. The Kalla spirits also provided some Life Force to the Scourge meaning even more damage on the boss.
Firebrand - Strong healing, blocks for the pizza attack, quickness, might, what else could you ask for? The Firebrand also acted as Saul's pocket healer, as the Scourge Epidemic couldn't kill the Prides consistently. This resulted in the Firebrand having to stay with Deimos for the 25% Saul while the Herald went with the Scourge and Renegade. This was because of the insane amount of damage that Saul would take in this part of the fight from the Prides.
Herald - The best Handkite for the job. With all the innate damage resist that Herald has access too, It could tank metric tons of pressure from Tears and Hands, even after the damage resist changes. The Herald also had to tank Deimos for the 75% and 50% Saul's, and due to the long phase times, He had to carefully tank Deimos to prevent him from eating all the Hands and wiping the group.

I was having some unknown issues because skills were not going off when I was spamming them sadly but overall super proud of this one.
