ElhedranThis is an update to my previous approach to a one wide tilable auto brewer. Its a little larger and has mostly the same features, but it should be a lot easier to build and less likely to cause issues in whatever server it is done on - as it now avoids any within game tick timing issues and doesn't require special placement of rails.
I mainly wanted to create this to apply some of what I've learned since my last attempt.

This system isn't completely fool proof (so I'd still have a traditional silo filter before it for the truely large volume items) but it does allow for faster than hopper golem sorting - at least for volumes under double chest amounts.Working Copper Golem Categorizer Java : 25w31aElhedran2025-08-05 | I've been waiting a while to see a video with the new copper golem used as a tilable, catagorizing sorter, and haven't seen any of my favourite youtubers put one up yet (@RaysWorks , @xisumavoid) - so I decided to just do a video on it myself.
Yes, the path finding on the golems seem broken, and yes, they are nearly as much a pain as villagers. But they do work in this snapshot if you just keep chests they are not supposed to look at, very much out of range for them.
This system is a categorizing sorter, and it is tilable. It is also stupidly simple. I'm sure by the time the full drop arrives there will be better, more compact designs but for now, this works.6x6 flush piston trapdoor [Java]Elhedran2025-07-03 | My son Jack wanted a 6x6 piston door for his base on our multiplayer server - and so I had to find one that works. But it was a journey of learning something new about redstone and piston extenders, and ultimate a combination of two approaches to make something a little smaller and a little better than what I could find online.
But honestly, the main reason I did this video is I haven't seen anyone talk about piston extenders breaking because there is a repeater as part of the signal to the extender before.
IMPORTANT - World download includes a feature not shown in the video to make it easier to connect the door to whatever signal source you want for getting it to open - maybe @Shulkercraft or some other creator that focuses on good quality tutorials will pick this up and include that feature in a better tutorial video - but for now its just in the world download.

In this video we show a smart bubble elevator where the player can select their floor, but still has an elevator shaft that fits in a 3x3 space to fit in with your build. Most of the circuit fits under the floor keeping horizontal space as free as possible for creative builds.
If you want a different approach (more redstone in the shaft, but smaller control system) checkout the build by @imantss here: youtu.be/ijAX-90eg50?si=KEjxE3zE3BmE593Q - also worth checking out is @JanoPriner video which fits quite thin within the walls of a build youtube.com/watch?v=5sujXeL6Ams

What it does is let you queue up a bunch of different shulker-sized brewing recipes, go away, and come back when it completes and fills the shulkers, using an array of nine brewing stands to fill the shulkers quickly. Not as fast as the Michael2_3B approach that uses dummy potions as well to speed up the brewing, but also not as complex to build.

As I did with the filter factories, I'll start simple and slowly bring in more and more concepts until we get to to some advanced builds.
If you like any of these concepts and would like to see them taken further into videos of their own, let me know in the comments below.

The intent is that by watching even the most advanced filter factory can be understood while allowing the audience to pick the level of complexity that suits what they need in their world.
This is not intended for technical servers where I'm sure all of this is already common knowledge.
I should alos mention @TangoTekLP - as it was his work in Hermitcraft that got me interested in the concept and @ExoticPlunger who's "Explaining Tago Tek's Redstone Factory (Kinda)" video that pointed me in the right direction for being able to explain some of the later concepts.
I do not know who exactly deserves credit for rail based binary encoding and decoding, if someone knows, please comment below and I'll pin the comment or copy the link to the description. All of the builds in this video however do tweak and modify builds I've seen elsewhere (even the binary encoder) - but in ways I think would likley to have already been done. As such I'm not claiming credit for any of the designs.Ultra Simple Compact & Item Filter for Minecraft JavaElhedran2025-03-28 | I really wanted a simple way to compat reversable recipes, like iron or redstone to blocks, within the same space as my existing sorting slices. This build achieves that - it is about as simple as anything in redstone can be, but manages to both filter an craft compressing recipes in a one wide tilable format.
The trick of using three hoppers into a crafter as a filter came from: BrainFreeze_00's filter and craft (nearly) anything: youtube.com/watch?v=U-yye4JPGww In his design - it essentially watches for the hopper to go over a signal of 12 and then starts a crafting clock for the slice. This allows the hopper to filter five items at once.

By combining ideas from @ianxofour , @RedstoneAge and @NicoisLOST, I created something I believe is 98% efficient and with the exception of two comparitors (which possibly could be replaced) only uses easily obtained items from the overworld.
I honestly was surprised at how efficient this turned out to be once I tested it, and how simple it was to build. It isn't a day one iron farm, but maybe a day one on returning from the first trip to the nether.
World download: elhedran-minecraft-public.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/Iron+Farm+Test+World.zip This includes an additional version that also optimizes for spawn locations and a forth villager - and is probably as close as this design can get to 100% efficiency (per village per hour)Flight Duration 3 Rocket Crafter - V2 for 1.21 releaseElhedran2024-06-16 | Now that 1.21 has officially been released, this is an updated version two design of my flight duration 3 rocket crafter that fixes some of the things that broke in the original design as Mojang tweaked the timings of how the Crafter worked.
In essense the build in Java can rely on predictable block update order, the Bedrock can't. As such, it is important to only unlock the hopper just once per craft to avoid overfilling paper. Using a comparitor to the dust on the block above the paper hopper achieves this - when the signal goes "off" which would unlock the hopper, one tick later the comparitor will lock it again.
Without this change, the crafter making the rockets will over-fill with paper on Bedrock worlds.System 13 - something was missing!Elhedran2024-04-12 | Thank to viewers who commented both on YouTube and Discord to help find an unstackable item filter to that fitted well into the System 13 sorting concept. @gules3971 pointed me to the Miazuma games pre sorter which fits well in the design, but takes two silo slices even if it does add book or potion sorting. And @Dich_little worked on some designs on Discord with me - and while he came up with a great pre-sorter that is silent and does shulker separation it was the approach to unstackable separation I kept for this video.
The sorter is designed to fit in a single chunk to avoid the need for chunk loading, is silent (except for shulker unloading) and uses different sorting strategies so can best sort both dirt and netherite in the one system. This video is aimed at casual players who want something they can use right away that will support them over the longer term. For more advanced players, I recommend a cart based design in combination with a chunk loader.

It relies somewhat heavily on technical minecart knowledge that I've learned from Inspector Talon: youtube.com/@inspectortalon - including a 1 wide very small tileable minecart sorter that I do not have a video link for (yet).
There really isn't much to it though: * Use the best minecart sorting tech (for example, something from Inspector Talon) * keep the first item out of the cart in a temporary storage if unloading the cart * make sure the cart attempts to visit the stations it needs to stop at in order
Should be more than enough for small survival worlds - probably needs more work for tech servers - but its more than enough for how I intend to use it on my own family multiplayer minecraft server.
No tutorial or downloads yet, will consider at doing that if/when I confirm it still works on the official release of Minecraft with Crafters (Assuming Inspector Talon or someone else doesn't do a more complete Minecraft Logistics solution by then).Flight 3 rocket auto crafter with underflow and overflow protectionElhedran2023-11-06 | WARNING: This no longer works in 1.21 - see updated build: youtube.com/watch?v=GU3MFvCT-x4

This design has both overflow and underflow protection, meaning it will stop if the output fills up, or if the input empties out, but will also start again once the output empties out or the input fills up.
It also requires very little buffered items so no backlog is required in order for it to function. I hope to take this design, the pumpkin pie crafter, and a crafter for a super smelter, and bring it all together in a future video with some automated logistics.

Super smelters are great, but most use minecarts that can be a bit noisy.
I've done previous videos using hopper distribution for super smelters, but as one of the commenters on that video noted, it doesn't deal well with a mix of items to be smelted.
So introducing the Dropper based Super Smelter. Its quiet, and only makes a noise when distributing the last ore or the last fuel. Its flexible, and if it gets a mix of items will just queue them in the hoppers next to the furnaces. Its also really easy to configure do different sizes by adjusting the redstone signal for length, and easy to build, the most complex part fitting in a single 4x12 circuit.
I haven't used this yet in my survival worlds, but I will. Configurable to any size from 4 to 14 furnaces, although I suggest thinking about going with 12 given it divides a stack and a half very nicely (or three stacks very nicely) to get that balance between bulk smelting, but also efficient fuel usage.
Note quite finished yet, hence no tutorial or title screen for the video.
Main challenge is slowing it down to hopper speed so can hide it in with a build more easily.Minecart Cart Passenger Lines (Java 1.20)Elhedran2023-07-01 | This is for the builders, who would like a passenger rail network that looks and acts like a proper train network with lines and stations you pass through on your way to your destination - in Minecraft vanillia.
This is based on some encoder/decoder redstone from Maizuma Gamesw Minecart Routing video (link below). But a different take on how the carts ar routed. In this video we support unlimited stations and there is no managing redstone in order to program the destinations. Rather its like trains in real life.... pick your side of the station for inbound or outbound, and then descide which of the stations reachable from that side of the station you want to go to. More than 15 stations? Just go to an interchange station and change trains... I mean carts.
I've spent a bit more time explaining the redstone in this one because I want everyone who wants to build it to understand how it works so they can fit it into their own worlds.
Some tips not mentioned in the video. - The double sided stations center on the cactus, so start there if you are trying to match it to an existing location. Single sided can be a bit smaller and more towards where the carts come into the stations. - put the detector rails to keep the minecarts going above the repeaters for the rail between stations. The easiest way to do this is to put the grid on and just do both at the start of the chunks. - buffers are needed because the signal from a station will only go to loaded chunks. So make sure there is either a station or a buffer in the direction you are going to pick up the signal and replay it within 10 chunks.

In particular this minecart stacker makes it a lot easier to do some things around minecart logistics I'm quite interested in.
This video highlights the stacker and how simple it is, but also shows how it is a part of some much more powerful builds making minecarts easier to work with generally, whether its for loaders, sorters, or sending carts via the nether and unloaded chunks.

My main thing is desiging redstone, not tutorials. However a tutorial was requested for this design and given I made mistakes while making this video (that were fixed) I can see why it would be needed. I've left the mistakes and fixes in as hopefully this is more helpful to those attempting to build their own designs and fix the mistakes they themselves may also make.
As with all my videos, its the redstone I care about, more than the views. Hence I'm always interested in other creators takes on the same or similar designs.Travelling Chunk LoaderElhedran2023-04-06 | Make the minecart in Minecraft load chunks as it travels, just like a player does. No keeping chunks loaded when they are not needed, no carts getting stuck waiting for something else to load the chunks.
Send stuff to your friends, get a minecart to pick up stuff from your base and bring it back, or store the items from your AFK farm while in your AFK spot.Correction to: Sending minecarts though unloaded chunksElhedran2023-03-25 | This is a follow up to a previous video. In my previous video I showed how to send minecarts long distances through chunks that may or may not be loaded, without having them bug out when the chunk was loaded again.
I incorreclty in that video said that minecarts could only come back from the Nether if the player was in the nether. Thankfully I had a couple of comments on that video correcting me.
In this video we show that just pausing the minecart for a short while rather than waiting for a player also works to get the minecart back to t he overworld. Two chunkloaders can hence take a minecart more than 500 blocks distance in the overworld without the player having to leave where they started. Build a quarry and send blocks to your shop at spawn. Mail stuff to other players on the server. Let the items travel while you stay where you are.Sending minecarts through unloaded chunksElhedran2023-03-24 | *IMPORTANT UPDATE* - as mentioned in the comments below, I was wrong about why the minecart didn't come back - I'll be making an updated video to take advantage of just pausing the minecart at the portals.
What can be done about sending minecarts long distance though potentially unloaded chunks? We can either load the chunks - which is well covered in by other content creators - or we can make sure that our carts will wait for the chunks to be loaded and continue without bouncing or getting stuck.
In this video I show how to send minecarts any distance and have confidence that they will get there as intended - even if it does mean that occasionally someone a player is expected to just "turn up and open the gate".

But if you are happy to use a datapack to reduce dropper noise, and you want a build similar to my previous encoded multi item sorter but with less space taken up by the redstone, this is the video for you.
Its basically the same as the previous design, but the clocks pulsing the dropper towers in each slice have been replaced by an observer on the repeater that unlocks the hopper into the dropper tower. I've also removed the clock on the shulker detecter and re-purposed the pulse from the dropper tower that comes up from the input chest.

Sorry, I'm better at redstone design than tutorial videos.
This is an update of my encoded multi item sorter. V1 had an issue with quasi-connectivity of the top droppers that prevented improving the clock approach, but that is fixed with this design. (Seriously, don't build the old one).
Included in this video: * hopper speed encoded multi-item sorter * non-stackable item separation * 16-stackable item separation * shulker separation * shulker unloading (empty, 1 item, many items, or full) * silent hopper-speed dropper elevator * putting it all together.
Its fast (hopper speed), its quiet, and its probably one of the simplest encoded multi-item sorters you are likely to see on YouTube. If you want to keep your storage sorted in minecraft but don't want to have to deal with massive or complex redstone, this is the video you need to watch.
Also seen in this video is the design seen on SamosTheSage's channel here: youtube.com/watch?v=4n_HasJGS3E&t=185s - please visit there for what is probably the best reserved slot multi-item I've come accross that works very well in conjunction with not only my encoded sorter but also most other encoded item sorters.
Sorry, no block by block tutorial, but please let me know in the comments below if this is something that is wanted, or better yet, comment with your own block by block tutorial for me to link in the description.

One more thing - this can be made one-wide-tilable in the same way that the RaPsCaLLioN's design is one wide tilable. Rather than interleaving, this design hangs completely to one side of the chests and above anyway, so just build it on the other side. The design pretty much sits above and behind the line of chests anyway.
I've updated the litematic file and validated it works in 1.20.4: elhedran-minecraft-public.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/hopper+encoded+sorter.litematic - it may be a little more compact than what is shown in the video.Tutorial: Fast Dropper Item Distribution for Minecraft Java 1.19Elhedran2022-08-27 | This is a deeper dive into how to make a dropper item distribution system from the basic parts that make it work, but also how it can be changed to suit diffirent builds, how to check it works, and what to do for some of the challenges that may come up when working with dropper item distribution.Easy to build Super Potion Brewer for Minecraft Java 1.19Elhedran2022-08-24 | Brew more potions faster by using 9 brewing stands at once rather than just one. This is a simple build anyone can make that will fill a shulker box full of potions in the same time it takes to normally use just one brewing stand to make three potions. Better yet, it will help count out the number of each ingredient needed to set up each of the brewing stands so you can just grab all the brewing ingredients and let the build do the math for you.Very fast dropper item distribution for Super Smelters and Super Brewing in Mincraft Java 1.19Elhedran2022-08-21 | This is an in-progress investigation around dropper item distrbution as an alternative to minecart item distribution. While these are not final builds, they do demonstrate where dropper item distribution would have advantages over minecart or hopper based item distribution.
Dropper item distribution is twice as fast as hopper item distribution, but does not need hoppers below the feed to be locked. Unlike minecarts, there are no entities involved and are not affected by chunk unloading or loading. Given they are driven from the first dropper, they can also easily be set up to distribute when items are placed in the first dropper as a stack with a shift-left-click, which can be useful in a brewing scenario where there are a number of differen types of items to be distributed.
If someone would like me to go more into detail of one of the ideas let me know. It should be possible to work out the builds from the video as the designs are very, very simple compared to other super-brewing or non-minecart super-smelters, but I don't really walk through the whole builds step by step.
Sorry about the thumps in the audio, my microphone was not quite in the right spot during recording - but given I don't do this to be a content creator, it wasn't worth it for me to go back and re-record - so I've done my best with a bit of software noise cancelling.Simple Silent Super Smelter for Mincraft Java (and Bedrock) editionElhedran2022-08-16 | A simple, perfectly silent super smelter that is easy enough to build you won't need to come back and reference the video.
No minecarts, no entities, no noise except for the cracle of the smelters. And simple enough to build that you don't need to be a redstone expert to remember how.
Now lets see who reads the description. In the video I say this only goes to 15 furnaces, but there is a very, very minor change that can be made to get this to extend to 23 furnaces - which pretty close to the limit of 25 for hopper distrubted super smelters.
Comment if you can work out how.

Not mentioned in the video, each of the furnances at the back used to hold the fuel hoppers locked have 16 items in them, it doesn't matter what kind of item, this cases the lock comparitors to have a signal strength of 2, requiring a signal strength of 3 from the comparitors reading the smokers in order to release the fuel hoppers when the clock releases its signal.
Also not mentioned in the video.... just use cauldrons, dripstone, and lava buckets. Its an easier build and creates more fuel over time with fairly similar effort to collect.... but I worked out how to build this so YouTube gets a video of it.Force changing allay target noteblockElhedran2022-04-17 | This video just highlights how to change which noteblock an allay is targeting without waiting for the timeout.[Replaced - see description] 1 wide tilable fully automatic refilling brewing system (V2) [Java]Elhedran2022-03-21 | **Replaced** - see youtu.be/X1sZdv-BMDk
This is an adaption of Ocharon's two wide tilable potion brewing system as seen here youtube.com/watch?v=OMnE09MeYJ8 into a one wide tilable potion brewing system.
Can make potions of any number of ingredients, tile slices are completely indepdendent, system is very easy to use, if anything runs out or blocks up, just refill or clear the block and let it go again.
Also provided is a 1 wide slice for the bottle filling component.
This will produce one water bottle at the start of a run (of up to 1700 potions per slice) and two water bottles at the end. Otherwise, its just easy potions and the three extra water bottles can be fed back into the water bottle production.
Special thanks to cubfan135 youtube.com/c/cubfan135 as well for hilighting Ocharon's design.
There is a previous version of a 1 wide brewing system I previously posted, this one is a bit smaller, and a bit easier to access the the parts of the system that need refilling once multiple slices are assembled. Everything is set and forget, and the whole thing is very forgiving, no need to keep empty bottles full, the system clear, or ingredients stocked, very easy to get going again if anything backs up or runs out.1 wide tilable fully automatic refilling brewing systemElhedran2022-03-18 | This has already been replaced with a V2 edition: youtu.be/NG0Z17G8NLk which is a bit smaller, uses less observers, and makes the brewing stands easier to access.
This is an adaption of Ocharon's two wide tilable potion brewing system as seen here youtube.com/watch?v=OMnE09MeYJ8 into a one wide tilable potion brewing system.
Can make potions of any number of ingredients, do not have to use all slices at once or even start them at the same time. Just load the ingredients in the hopper and start which ever slices need restarting for masses of potions in a wide wide slice design.
Special thanks to cubfan135 youtube.com/c/cubfan135 as well for hilighting Ocharon's design.
The idea of a simple to build, one wide tilable potion brewing system has been scratching at the back of my head for a long time now, and I'm very happy to adapt some of the ideas from Ocharon's design (namely pulsing to push water into the brewing stand, and putting the netherwart at the end to improve brew cycle detection) to finally have a one wide tilable brewing system I'd be happy to put in my survival worlds.Infinitely tileable, redstone control panelElhedran2021-08-16 | This video shows a redstone control panel that can be tiled infinitely in any direction controlling any number of remote redstone state. It also bundles controls for up to four levers into a single redstone line to reduce the amount of redstone used to take signals to various parts of a base or industrial district.Redstone Pulse Reducer, NOT limiterElhedran2021-08-13 | There are a lot of videos for a minecraft redstone pulse limiters, but if you want to find a pulse shortner or reducer, you often will just find more limiters.
This is not a pulse limiter - it shortens the pulse by one redstone tick, and only by one redstone tick, regardless of pulse length.
Why would you need such a thing? Well its possible then to encode levers to pulse length, and then have as many levers as you want share a single redstone line. Which is useful if you are making a control panel and don't want to run redstone lines for each lever you use over your base.
I'm putting this video up now for others who are looking for reducers, not limiters, while I think about if I want to put together a full build and video around using this approach for a control panel.Better Three Tick ClockElhedran2021-08-12 | Always seem to be struck with ideas right before I want to go to sleep... in this case realized that I can just make a three tick clock rather than dropping a six tick clock down. Better yet, it has one and two tick pulse points to take from so don't need to invert the signal either.Redstone One Tick QuizElhedran2021-08-12 | This is a Minecraft redstone quiz focused around how redstone behaves when dealing with very short tick lengths.
Do you think you are a redstone expert? skip to 2:13 and follow along with the quiz and see how many you get right.
For those with less redstone knowledge, watch from the beginning for a brief tour of the redstone cmoponents used and a basic demonstration of how they work.
