Sad guitar, pulsing synths, brittle falsetto, majestic choruses, hyper-desperate sound, the sadness, confusion and every-day anxiety of youth, this is Wy.
If there is a specific genre for sad pop music, that is where Wy belongs. Between floating synthersizers and melancholic guitars the main focus lies on capturing every little feeling possible. Where the songs are not about unrequited love, but about being shy, feeling doubt and growing stronger from what others would describe as weakness. Where bare emotions are camouflaged by reverbed pop melodies. Where you can dance and cry at the same time because life never seems fair. Somewhere in that space and time, is Wy.
With their landmark debut EP "Never Was" Wy higlights their eclectic sound although within a narrow genre such as the alternative dream pop and shoegaze sphere. Wy consists of true longtime lovers Ebba and Michel, a creative duo knee deep in art they carve out their world together with both contributing to producing and writing music while Ebbas background as creative designer and photographer are behind all of the bands artwork, images and videos.
