I believe the current conflict is highly unlikely to escalate into a World War III resembling World War II, as global powers like China and Russia lack the logistical and military capability for a traditional, widespread land war, and oil interests prevent major escalation [14:08]. The US involvement is primarily limited strikes aimed at pressuring Iran to submit to nuclear monitoring, to avert a crisis that could shut down oil flows [15:05]. A modern conflict would be aerial and naval, not mass-troop movements [02:09:58]. Any fallout here in the US would be minor: civil unrest, infrastructure issues from neglected spending, and short-term supply chain problems, not a catastrophic invasion [02:21:45].
