It is with great pleasure that we welcome our visitors from Wuhan, China to Pacifica Graduate Institute. The Group, which includes psychotherapy scholars, psychiatrists, psychologists and music therapists, has been attending a series of seminars and classes on both our Lambert and Ladera. They bring many years of experience in depth psychology, though previously from a more psychoanalytic perspective, especially German psychoanalysis.
In recent years many have become interested in Jungian analysis and wanted to explore Pacifica’s renowned depth psychology programs. Last year, Dr. Joseph Cambray was privileged to meet the group in April in Wuhan, before attending a conference in Xi’an on Chinese Culture and Analytical Psychology. Based on these meetings the group requested the opportunity to have an extended visit at Pacifica.
The group members includes: Yu Ping; Zhao Yingying; Dong Fei; Wang Jie; Li Shuying; Zhang Yinglin; Yang Yang; Shi Qijia; Shang Yuan; Zhao Zhong; Liu Jingheng; and, Zeng Fanhui.
They began with a day of Dream Tending hosted by Dr. Stephen Aizenstat. Subsequently they are meeting with Dr. Lionel Corbett offers clinical explorations about Psyche and the Sacred; Dr. Patricia Katsky on Dream Work from a Jungian Psychology; Linda Carter for a seminar on Jungian views on Attachment Theory; with Dr. Joseph Cambray for an introduction to Complexity Theory and its Application to Jungian Psychology, Dr. Oksana Yakusho for a seminar on Research in Depth Psychology, and then two days with our Clinical Program with guest lectures by Dr. Mary Watkins. The group will be with us through August 18th.
