I wrote this when I was 16, playing lead in bands at Berklee, and diving deep into the world of big band music. I never finished it — just twelve bars that somehow survived for thirty years in an old MIDI file.
I found it yesterday, recorded all five parts, and decided not to change a single note. Turns out my daughter approved immediately… she started dancing the moment I played it for her.
Funny how music can wait thirty years before finding the right moment to come alive.
