In case you missed it, I announced my second book deal! Im super excited to be sharing a bit more about Butcherbirds (published as Delicious Monsters) and its journey to publication thus far in this video about how I got my second book deal.
THE DEAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Sarah McCabe at S&S/McElderry has bought, in an exclusive submission, in a six-figure deal, Butcherbirds by Liselle Sambury (author of the forthcoming Blood Like Magic). In this standalone YA, a 17-year-old reluctant medium must confront the ghosts—both literal and figurative—of her mothers past when an inherited mansion in northern Ontario is not as idyllic as it would seem. In a parallel timeline years later, a budding investigative journalist attempts to uncover what happened to her. Publication is set for 2023; Kristy Hunter at the Knight Agency did the two-book deal for world English rights.
