Most people think they understand democracy. That democracy is always a good thing, and either you have it or you don’t. But democracy is actually a little more complicated than that. There are healthy democracies, and unhealthy democracies, with a whole spectrum in between. And there are a ton of threats that can weaken a democracy, or bring the whole system crumbling down.
