Is it okay to write more than one book at once? Absolutely. Most of us did this kind of project management versus life balance in college, high school, or in various careers and jobs. Therefore, why can't we adapt this skill to our writing? Because someone told you so? Okay, that is valid, if it works for them. At the same time... you are valid to use the skills that work for you, too.
Also, let's get real. When we say writing, we loosely mean "all of the other processes that add up the entire task of writing itself." You can have one project you're researching, another you are drafting, and even another you are actively marketing. Some businesses flourish on this model as an option to use from time to time or all the time.
We are NOT talking about multi-tasking. That is a myth. We are talking about allowing for the conscious choice to make time for multiple projects in our lives to account for the ups and downs of our energy inputs and outputs. Why have a "low energy task list" day, when you have an entire project calling your name for that moment instead, like a comforting friend? Let's have a chat, shall we?
