So I just today installed my new strix 1070 and additionally I too have my old 2x290 cards in my computer. And it really works. The biggest difference is of course the games that don't support crossfire and one OC'd 1070 gives me similar or better performance to 2x290. And wreckfest is one of these games that dont support crossfire so the performance is dramatically different. I need to test this config more though.
