Hello fellow TrackMania enthusiasts, I managed to snack in another TMNF Nadeo record. On the table today I have B09-Acrobatic, a map that seemingly hasn't been touched by a lot of people ever since Sativa set is 13.02 WR back in July 2013.
Quite understandably though since this track is nastily precise when trying to approach its limits. The main goal on this track is to cancel out airtime when switching sides back and forth on the banked platforms. The approach is precise and there's little room for error as a slight mistiming usually results in air time or an accidental edgebug.
On the very first transition after the start, you absolutely need to commit to your line, otherwise you'll fly off or hit the inside and get a slowdown. The angle is key there. It is also as important to hold right up until all of your wheels have passed the transition, then countersteer to straighten out your car.
For the other three transitions, you want to make sure not to pick too parallel of an angle as you approach them. Being too parallel gives the car no time to properly shift its weight over to the other side, meaning that you'll very likely edgebug. Stay off from the edge, then steer into the direction of the following platform up until the inside set of wheels start falling - then change to the opposite direction to straighten the car out again.
Most of this is just muscle memory and a lot of trial & error until you start to develop a feel for how to set up your car.
I think I am safe to say we are approaching the absolute limits of this track. After a thorough check in the replay editor, my WR is a .015 - meaning that you'd need to gain a good amount of extra distance onto my ghost to clock in a .00. I think it is doable, but I really don't see anything faster than a high .00x being possible here unless new strategies or lines are found.
Happy to get this one either way, beating the third oldest TMNF Nadeo record sure is a privilege :]
