Is rendering 1,000,000 3D points in WPF too slow? Think again. In response to a user question comparing 2D and 3D performance, we created this demo to prove that SciChart 3D is capable of extreme performance when paired with the right hardware.
In this video, we demonstrate the SciChart WPF 3D Point Cloud chart rendering a massive 1 Million data points at a buttery smooth 60-100 FPS. Because our 3D charts are fully GPU-accelerated using DirectX, almost all the processing load is lifted from the CPU, making this perfect for high-density visualizations.
What you'll see:
– Real-time Rendering: Visualizing 1,000,000 3D points simultaneously
– High Frame Rate: Achieving 60-100 FPS on mid-level hardware (NVIDIA GTX 1070)
– GPU Acceleration: How we utilize the GPU to free up CPU resources
– Use Case: Ideal performance for LiDAR data and dense scientific plotting
Why Developers Choose SciChart for 3D WPF Applications
– DirectX Powered: Native hardware acceleration for industrial-grade performance
– Infinite Scale: Capable of handling massive datasets that crash other libraries
– Interactive: Zoom, pan, and rotate complex 3D worlds in real-time
– Specialized Charts: Dedicated support for Point Clouds, Surface Meshes, and Waterfalls
