I swapped out just ONE color and it made all the difference! When people say "blue" that could mean a lot of different shades. And the specific color you use does matter. In the prior painting, I used turquoise blue and it mixed with the orange to a color that I didn't like as much. I swapped that out for a lighter sky blue and I really like these colors now! Recipe:
Base coat and colors:
PM: 70/30% floetrol/gloss medium. 1 part paint to 3 parts pouring medium and water to thin
Satin enamel mixture (poured around the outside): 2 ounces artist loft flow acrylic white, 1 ounce satin enamel, 1 ounce gloss medium, 5 ounces US floetrol, 2-3 ounces of water. consistency should be slightly thick (1-2 second trace)
**measurements are estimates. less is more with satin enamel
Canvas size: 20 inch by 20 inch canvas
