The Honda CB1000F is finally here – and I've been VERY keen to ride it!
This beautiful new retro Honda takes its styling inspiration from the legendary CB bikes of the late 1970s and early 1980s, but underneath that classic-looking bodywork is the thoroughly modern 1000cc four-cylinder platform from the Honda Hornet.
And there's an obvious question I wanted to answer…
How does it compare with my Kawasaki Z900RS?
I currently own a Z900RS SE, so rather than simply giving you my usual first-ride review, I've put the two bikes head-to-head. On paper, the Honda has a lot going for it. It's cheaper, lighter, more powerful and has some impressive specification for the money.
But does that make it a better bike than the Z900RS?
And, having ridden the Honda, would I actually replace my Kawasaki with one?
