Worried about the cost of getting to Whistler for the 2026 Summit for Animals?
You’re not alone. Just ask Sandra Archibald, Executive Director of New Hope Dog Rescue in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Sandra and her colleague Trina were eager to attend the 2025 Summit in Montréal, but as a small rescue, airfare was a major concern. Instead of letting that stop them, they got creative: they reached out to their supporters for help.
The result?
One generous donor gifted enough travel points to cover their flights.
As Sandra put it:
“We flew economy, which is fine. We're not fancy people!”
Where there's a will, there's a way—and Sandra and Trina found theirs with community support and a little ingenuity.

She said, You can stop somebody in the hallway and go, Oh, my goodness, your presentation was wonderful. Its amazing. I learned so much. I have these questions, and they will take time to talk with you, and if its somebody from a different organization, you thought, oh, what do we have in common? You find those common threads.
