About 6 weeks ago, we started with a clay ripening pilot on our campus in Delft: youtu.be/JXG9WJQNsfk (Part 1)
And for now, we see quite a difference already between the different sections: worms, plants or no treatment. In this video, our expert at Deltares, Miguel Angel de Lucas, gives you a visual demonstration with a 10kg kettlebell to show what the differences look like now, and he will tell you what he expects to happen next.
With this experiment we test new nature-based solutions for the dewatering of soft sediment, for example mine tailings or sludge from waste water treatment. Nature helps to keep coasts, river areas and cities safe and viable.
