In this short video I demonstrate just how easy it is to start a fire with 4DB ferro rods and 4DB New tinder option Palm tree husk. I harvest some from a palm tree on a river float trip that the 4DB family took and show how effective our ferro rods can be if your in totally wet conditions.
Now my ferro rod was soaking wet as you saw in the picture but I took care of my tinder and made sure it was as dry as possible. If you can do this you will be almost guaranteed fire. With a tinder like fatwood of course you don't have to worry about it staying dry but I didn't have fatwood this time. Instead I use the inner bark or husk of a palm tree. We were testing quality, reliability and ease of function with this demo. I hope you enjoy. Oh by the way we were at Weeki Wachee River in Spring Hill Florida for this trip!
