World eX and #racingfortheclimate are heading to the Nürburgring on December 20 for the final round of the 2022 World eX Championship. The German eX Prix presented by Biela Racing Team EURONICS supporting Planted on the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit will be followed by the World Championship deciding Super Final on the famous Nordschleife.
Nine professional teams hold an exclusive license to compete in the World eX Championship: Absolute Racing (China), ACER VERO R8G (France), Biela Racing Team EURONICS (Germany), BS+COMPETITION (Germany), Esports Team WRT (Belgium), NIANCO esports (Switzerland), Patrick Long Esports (USA), TK9 E-SPeeD (Denmark) and Williams Esports (United Kingdom).
Four of them – WRT, R8G, BS+ and NIANCO – have already qualified at least one car fot the Super Final which is reserved for all cars which have reached a final of the regular rounds. There is one chance left on the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit.
Frank Biela, Romain Grosjean, Tom Kristensen, Patrick Long, Nico Müller, Alessio Picariello, Bruno Senna, Bruno Spengler and Vincent Vosse are the Team Principals and they have until race day 10:00 UTC to decide their driver line-ups. And it will be very interesting which drivers they will select for the Super Final.
The team that wins the final two-lap shoot-out on the Nordschleife will win the 2022 World eX Championship title.
Last year, Martin Stefanko from Williams Esports was able to pass TK9 E-SPeeD’s Lasse Sørensen out of the slipstream on the “Döttinger Höhe” straight winning the inaugural title. Expect thrilling racing and insane speed and slipstream battles with the 1,000 hp all-electric eX ZERO prototypes on the world’s most difficult race track, too.
Each team has to compete with one PRO driver and one ESPORTS racer. Expect some big names on the grid.
