The Florida Aquarium has the privilege of providing world-class care to our colony of African penguins. From the arrival of the first penguins in 2006, their welfare remains our top priority! Our African penguin colony is thriving behind the scenes; but sadly, the wild population is struggling. The number of birds is rapidly declining; without mitigation of the many threats they face, these dynamic birds will become extinct in our lifetime. With the fate of the African penguin at a crossroads, it’s our responsibility as a leading wildlife conservation organization to increase our efforts in support of saving these magnificent birds. And, you can help!
There is no better way to inspire empathy and action than by seeing animals up-close. With your meaningful donation, The Florida Aquarium will build an outdoor habitat allowing you and our guests to enjoy our colony of African penguins – ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! All while helping our species ambassadors inspire stewardship in the fight to help save the endangered African penguin.
