Plot: This game is based on the long-running, French comic book series Asterix the Gaul. The characters Asterix and Obelix must rescue Getafix (Panoramix) and Dogmatix (Idéfix) from the Romans, who are in the process of taking over Gaul.
This platformer was exclusive to Europe though, and was also ported to Game Gear as well.

Altered Beast, 3DS conversion by M2 and published by Sega in 2013.
After being summoned from the dead by Zeus, shape-shift into various beasts and fight off hordes of demons to rescue the captured Athena from the clutches of Neff. Transform into a variety of beasts and fight off throngs of demons sent forth by the evil Neff. The mighty shape-shifting god will challenge you in various hideous forms in each level, but you are armed to the teeth with transformative tricks of your own! In addition to its all-new 3D presentation, 3D Altered Beast also supports local multiplayer, and a Random Transformation Mode.
The 3DS conversion of Altered Beast is based on Mega-Drive game. This is the eShop stand alone release. In the US/EU the game was also included as part of the SEGA 3D Classics Collection, also known as SEGA Reprint Archives (セガ3D復刻アーカイブス2, Sega 3D Fukkoku Ākaibusu 2 in Japan.
The 3DS game includes both the international and Japanese releases of the game with the only notable difference being the title screen. All the original Mega Drive cheats will work in this version. It is also possible to set the game to allow a random transformation for tackling the bosses in new ways. Music can be rendered like the original mega drive or the megadrive2. A crt like effect is also available.
In the longplay I play through each of the difficulty levels as the game loops after the final stage with no ultimate ending. As each loop starts I will change a setting to show the game in a different setting offered by the 3ds game.
