Brothers Armando and Dan Vargas created two magnificent
Hi-Rail layouts. Highlights include a six-foot tall replica of El Capitan in Yosemite, scratch-built models of Grauman's Chinese Theater, Capitol Records and the most detailed model of Grand Central Terminal you'll ever see. These realistic settings provide the perfect environment for the SP Daylight, the Pennsy's Congressional, Union Pacific's streamlined passenger train headed by Alco PAs, and mixed freights headed by modern Heritage decorated diesels. Incredibly detailed scenery includes trees, mountains, and waterfalls. The Vargas brothers raise the bar for lifelike vistas and prototypical train operation.

The Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders of Long Island offer plenty of train action amidst realistic scenery in a club setting where each member contributes. We visit the National New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart, IN where a real Mohawk and streamlined E8 are proudly on display, and a giant U-shaped, scale-detailed, multi-level layout where up to seven trains run at one time.

If you want magnificently detailed scenery -- mountains, trees, roads, and lakes? If you want scale trains operating prototypically -- both long freights and long passenger trains? If you want incredibly detailed, scratch-built scale models of famous landmarks -- this video is most definitely for you.
