Gaps remain in the funding pathway for innovation, in particular, at the translational stage which is sometimes framed as the “valley of death” for promising innovation. What will it take to create an enabling pro-innovation environment for Europe to become a more attractive hub for R&D, from early stage spin-out all the way through to pivotal trials?
