Abstract: As your Shiny apps grow in size and complexity, you might start seeing a need for a more structured approach to your projects. Perhaps you’ve heard of Rhino or even gave it a try, and you’d like to learn more. This masterclass is for you! We’ll explore Rhino with in-depth, hands-on exercises. After the workshop you’ll feel comfortable starting your next serious project with our framework for enterprise-grade Shiny apps!
What to Expect:
Hands-On Exercises: The workshop will be structured around practical coding tasks to be solved by participants. Each exercise will consist of several subtasks with increasing difficulty. You’ll learn something whether you’re already familiar with the concept or not.
A Tour of Rhino: The exercises will touch on all major aspects of Rhino, including project structure, development tools, and general know-how. You’ll gain knowledge and confidence to build your own Rhino apps and to overcome potential hurdles.
R, CSS & JS: We will use mostly R throughout the exercises, but we’ll also dip our toes in a little bit of CSS and JS, the technologies which power the modern web.
Prerequisites:
Feeling comfortable with R and Shiny (no need to be an expert though).
RStudio, VS Code, or other editor of your choice.
Rhino and Node.js installed.
