In this workshop, LACMA teaching artist Katie Lipsitt takes a close look at artist Courtney M. Leonard’s ABUNDANCE (Red Algae), then demonstrates how to create a paper basket about the idea of abundance. For grades 4–8.
Essential supplies: A whole newspaper, 1 sheet of copy paper, scissors, glue stick, white glue, or craft glue, markers or crayons, 3” x 5” cards, pencil
Evenings for Educators is a professional development program for K–12 teachers focusing on LACMA's permanent collection and special exhibitions. Each session presents strategies for incorporating the visual arts into the classroom with activities that explore the artistic process, approach works of art as primary sources, and emphasize parallels between the visual arts and core content areas.
