Working with JSON data and datetime values can be challenging. While the JSON data type only allows valid documents, they can still have any structure. This means expected attributes may be missing, making querying it tricky. Datetime calculations to account for fiscal or other non-standard calendars are complex. Ensuring optimal performance for both types needs careful tuning.

Oracle AI Database 26ai has many enhancements to simplify working with these types. We'll cover new methods to validate the schema of JSON documents. Then we'll look at a range of datetime functions added in 26ai. These provide simple APIs to find time boundaries crossed and work with fiscal and retail calendars. And we'll show techniques to optimize all these queries.

Watch this session to see demos of these features in action. If you do data analysis or build apps that work with these values you'll learn tips and tricks to help simplify your SQL.
